98.6 and the thermostat

In the winter, we program the thermostat for 68 when we are home morning and evening, and for 59 at nights and when we are at w*rk during the day.

In the summer, we have only a small window AC in the bedroom for sleeping, which we usually set to about 66 on an as needed basis. The rest of the house is at ambient outside temperature. We really only need the AC for 2-3 weeks in late July and early August.

I set it to 70F all year round and never change it (in KSA).
When it is hot outside it feels cool, when it is cool outside it feels warm.

The thermostat in the low-desert home is set to 78F in the summer, 68F in the winter.

The thermostat in the high-country home is set to 45F year round, which means the heat pump runs intermittently in the winter, and the AC never runs in the summer. Diurnal temperature swing is 60F/85F in the summer, and 45F/70F in the winter with passive solar heating.

Pacific Northwest

Summer - off
Winter - 58 (day) 52 (night)

That runs me about $4/day to heat the place, cook food, and heat the water using natural gas.

I believe that makes me the winner if we're playing by golf rules.
