Amazon single page error mystery. Any ideas?

I wasn't sure how to title this post.

The short of it is that I can't get the "contact us" page to open at Amazon. I get an error page with a photo of a "dog of Amazon". This happens while I'm logged in, logged out, and even when I click the link in the email they sent me. It happens in both Firefox and Chrome.

I asked on another forum if anyone else had this problem and it seems to just be me.

I don't know how long this has been an issue since I've not needed to contact Amazon in several years.

I have tried:
*clearing the cache and cookies
*logging out of Amazon and back in
*updating Firefox
*updated my mac (had a security update)
*turning computer on and off
*turning off my adblock for Amazon

Dh was able to get their help page up once, but when he went back to it, he also had the error page.

Any other ideas? The only thing I haven't tried is rebooting the router/modem because doing that literally screws up a bunch of stuff and takes a good 15 minutes before we're back online. Dh really, really doesn't want to do it if it's not necessary, especially since I managed to get through via his computer that one time, but I'm thinking if I need to contact them again for something, I'd like this solved.

I will insist on trying the modem/router thing if that's the only other thing it could be, but could that really cause one single page out of all of Amazon and everywhere else on the internet I (and dh) visit to go wonky?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

If you have a mobile device try that. If you get the same error it’s related to your Amazon account. If not, it’s related to your Mac.

A dog page means the old URL is gone. Amazon shifts stuff around a lot.. (and yes they do that and still send out old links)...it's not you, it's them.

Try a different web browser.
I already tried the two I mentioned in my post but I went ahead and tried Safari. Same error page.

So, it works on mobile (iPhone) and in Linux, so maybe it is the mac? Dh also used his mac yesterday when he got in that one time.

If it is a mac issue, I wonder what it could be?

If you can bring up the page on your phone, try copying the url and sending it to your desktop by email to see if it opens.

When you go to the Contact Us page, they give you a couple of options. Here are the links to the pages for those options. Perhaps one of these will work for you.

This one is the automated chat bot that will eventually get you to a human: https://www.amazon.com/message-us?origRef=de_poc&muClientName=magus&ref_=de_poc

This one is "Need help over the phone? We can call you."

Thanks for this! The chat bot link works but the phone me one doesn't.

I'll save them both for the future, just in case.

That's what I thought until I asked on a different board if anyone had any issues and a few folks said they literally checked and they were fine. Also, Dh tried it on his Linux system. just a minute ago and got in.

I wonder if it really is a mac issue.

Could be an http/https issue? It's possible the (browsers on the) Mac is either forcing an https connection/url when amazon doesn't serve that page https or vice-versa.

I had that http/https issue on linux that Golden Means mentioned however the system would tell me there was no https site available and to try the http; one. I had set my system to default to https in my browser somewhere. No idea if the mac browsers are different but worth trying a web search on setting that setting with your default browser.
