Any Reliable Media Players That Play MP4 files?

Do most blu-ray players play MP4 videos? Maybe I was barking up the wrong tree all along.

I will have to check into blu-rays. Thanks.

Yes, they do. They also play .avi, .mkv, .mpeg, .3gp, .wmv, .mov, etc. etc.

Audio files: mp3, wav, flac, wma, aac, etc.

Image files: .jpg, .png, .gif etc. (look at your camera pictures on your TV)

The best way to be sure is to go the the blu-ray player manufacturer's web site and download the player's user manual. Then check the specifications for compatible file formats.

As I said in a comment above, a blu-ray player is probably your best bet. Your DVD player that accepts avi files is too old to play mp4 files with modern codecs and even then, codecs can be an issue. Worst case scenario, you might have to convert your existing mp4 to an mp4 with a compatible code for your blu-ray player. If you're lucky, the blu-ray player will accept your mp4 files without any conversion.
