Article---you don't need that much $$ to retire

As much as I appreciate Rick Ferri's support, I'd love to catch up with the Bernicke family in 40 or 50 years and see how they feel about their retirement planning... especially when it's based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics!

When I was passing thru Steamboat Springs, Colorado, a few years back, I bought a book entitled "Life is Uncertain; Eat Dessert First." Sorry, no link, but there was a ditty they put in front of each chapter.

You work and work for years and years.
You're always on the go.
You never take a minute off,
too busy making dough.

You're gonna take that ocean trip,
No matter come what may.
You've got your reservations, but
you just can't get away.

Next year, for sure you'll see the world
you'll really get around.
But how far can you travel, when
you're six feet underground?

Enjoy yourself, Enjoy yourself,
It's later than you think.
Enjoy yourself, Enjoy yourself,
while you're still in the pink.

Enough, already, you get the idea! So eat your dessert! :)

I like that song too.  The words are so appropriate to ER.  Here are all the lyrics for those who missed it a few months ago... http://early-retirement.org/forums/index.php?topic=2322.0
