Best Fast Food Burgers & Fries

Could we please stick to fast food burgers and fries and leave Chick-fil-A and other non burger places, and especially management/owners beliefs out of it before a Mod has to intervene?

If someone wants to start another thread, have at it.

Could we please stick to fast food burgers and fries and leave Chick-fil-A and other non burger places, ....

I went and had to check Chik-fil-a's website after these posts, thinking they made burgers too, which was news to me. But all I found was chicken sandwiches (which for deep fried, still seem to be fairly low calorie ~ 500?).

Anyhow, back to burgers.

I don't do fast food often, and when I do, it's more likely to be one of the Mom & Pop places, or a local mini-chain, and as likely to be a Chicago-style hot dog, or a Gyro as it is a hamburger.

I have only visited ~ half those places on the OP list in the past 50 years, so maybe in another 50 years, I can rate the rest, and report back ;)

But heck, a Whopper or a Big Mac "hits the spot" once in a while. They are what they are. Wendys, McD, Culvers, Steak & Shake, I guess they are all good for what they are. Not sure I really have a favorite among them, they are all similar, but all a little different. I wouldn't even say better/worse, just different.

But now I am craving a Wendy's - there was one close to where I worked at one time, so would stop in occasionally, probably haven't has one in 25 years.

Ever since I FIRE'd, my fast food days pretty much halted. Used to have a steady diet of McDonald's or Burger King.

That's fine, but your message should have been directed at DFDubb.
He's the one who made a comment that was totally unrelated to the OP's question. Besides, I believe it was nothing more than sarcasm.

Those who are upset by it, need to read it again.
"Chick Fil A is probably the best run, most consistent, franchise businesses in this country. Every single one of them is amazing when it comes to staff, efficiency, consistency, etc....it really is kind of amazing"

But then, in the last sentence, he say’s he’d never eat there ?
Sounds like sarcasm to me.

FYI:
It’s a very limited number of locations, but they do offer burgers & fries.

I love Whataburger but none in CA that I know of. They put exactly what I like on burgers - mustard, onion, pickles, lettuce, cheese & jalapeños. Every time I fly through an airport with a Whataburger, I try to get one.

I like McD’s fries the best. I like the charbroiled taste of BK’s burgers but don’t like their fries. In & Out has delicious burgers and shakes but I don’t like their fries at all. Plus, it takes quite some time to eat there so if I truly want a fast food burger, I wouldn’t choose In & Out. Used to love Carl’s Jr jalapeño turkey burgers but they took it off the menu.

Personally, I can't separate my top 3: In N Out, Shake Shack, and MOS Burger. These are the only ones I'd go out of my way to get a burger from.
However, I'm not a fan of In N Out's fries and I've tried them multiple ways (extra well done, animal, etc).

I don't mind the odd Wendy's burger because they do taste "fresh" but I find they (at least my local ones) are a bit inconsistent.

Too bad you guys don't get a chance to try:
Harveys
White Spot (eat in)
A&W
all pretty good for me.
Carl's Jr in Mexico too.

I used to crave Harvey's now and then but I kind of feel their beef patties have gone down in quality.

For whatever reason, the Quarter Pounder With Cheese seems to have the right taste combination for me as far as fast food burgers go. Especially if I add a little extra ketchup. I've been using the app lately and invariably I can get a QPWC for only $1.00. I also like the Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack in the Box. IMHO, In n Out is overrated: I've had to wait a long time and the burger was unremarkable. Shake Shack is also very good but they are quite expensive.

I'd love to go to the Heart Attack Grill, just once. At least they're honest.:) As a teenager I could probably have polished off an Octuple Bypass burger or at least put a respectable dent in it. Those days are long gone though.

Locally, I'd have to say Burger King then McDonalds. There are a couple of Dairy Queens around but I've never been in one and it's been probably a decade since I've been in any fast food place.

I ate at the Heart Attack Grill in Phoenix. I had a triple, an order of fries and a coke. The fries were fried in lard. The burger was huge. The place had a medical theme. I was attended to by a “doctor” and 2 “nurses” while I ate. And the nurses escorted me to the car as we left. Awesome place. Too bad the Phoenix location closed some time later.

I appologize about derailing your thread a bit, but this is a thread about fast food hamburgers. Was it to be taken super seriously? Are we solving the worlds problems here?

Whataburger is #1 on my list.
+1

Tried them all except Shake Shack and Culvers. Generally don't eat at any of them anymore. I'll just wait and get one of those 1.75 inch New York Strips at Costco instead and throw it on the grill when I get home (if I don't get one of their hotdogs while I'm there.) :D

Cheers!

Thread inspired me to buy hamburger meat and buns at the grocery store a little bit ago. You guys need to chat about more healthy stuff.

Agreed. Get a #2 value meal about once a month. Always taste great, although I've had a couple occasions where it's been obscenely over salted.
It's basically the only fast food I eat anymore.

I have only eat at 3 of the 11 you have listed. LOL So I will be a poor judge but of the 3 i have eaten at. Wendy's would be me choice.

I like Wendy's much better than Burger King and McD's.
Due to this thread, I will check out Steak and Shake and Culver's which are within 15 minutes of me.

One of my favorites is Mooyah burgers. Nice variety, some healthy options, good fairly quick food.
But rather than get a burger we usually get a po-boy from the many local options.

Huh.. I will. Never seen them before and they aren't far away. Good looking menu. Peppercorn Goat cheese burger......

You like Indian correct ? Next time you are near Pearson you have to try this guys place out. He won the Loblaws reality TV recipe show a few years ago with his Butter Chicken Lasagna. He now has a small hole in the wall place. The menu is wild stuff...

Rick's Good Eats » Canadian Punjabi Cuisine Serving Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga and the GTA

Masala Fries
Chaat Fries
Punjabi Cheeseburger
Tandoori BLT
Shahi Paneer Naanwich

I can vouch for the Masala Fries and Punjab burger (with tandoori bacon).

Next time you are near Pearson you have to try this guys place out.

We, (almost exclusively now), come directly into Pearson by train from Belleville, (plus the airport shuttle), and leave pretty much the same way.

I brought up chick fila and not DD. Strict about the serious subject of burgers are we:))?
