Congatulations Everyone!

I think it's easy for most of us still in accumulation phase it's easy to take the "woohoo buying low" angle of glass being half full, especially with how often one reads precedent of bulls following bears historically.

If I had retired a year ago I suspect it would be much more worrisome.

I tried to stay in a decent mood all week and then last night I had to have two of my tires replaced and I went crazy on the Firestone guy . It's laughable considering how much money I lost last week that I went nuts on a $140.00 bill. Repressed anxiety

Hopefully this doesn't just happen often, it happens all of the time. If a bear market follows a bear market wouldn't it still be the same bear market? Sorry couldn't resist.:D

I have been visiting in-laws in the state of Georgia since just before all this madness started, and I won't be back in my home state for a few more days. I didn't bring the software to calculate the change in my investments.
Maybe that's why I have been strangely calm, while Scarlett O'Hara lines of "Tomorrow is another day" and "fiddle-dee-dee" keep running through my head.
I'd say "I'll never go hungry again" but that would be a bad thing - let's just say my waistline is a bit wider than Scarlett's already.
Anyway, if I'm invited to this party, I'll make a new dress out of some curtains and be the belle of the virtual ball.

I'd like to join in the group hug!! There sure are a lot of wonderful people here on the ER Forum and we made it through the week, together.

Yesterday I remembered "buy when there is blood in the streets", so even though I felt more panicked than any time I can recall, I bought some more VTSAX (total stock market) and VWIAX (Wellesley). Buying any fund at all in this market climate was really hard to do, but I did it.

Afterwards Frank and I went to a wonderful restaurant for dinner. A truly excellent chicken parmesan is utterly decadent and I recommend chicken parmesan therapy... by the time we were done, I felt a little better about the market. The hot, fresh French bread didn't help my weight either but I have to admit that I had a big smile on my face by the time we walked out of the restaurant.

Party on!

Remember when Carol Burnett did Scarlett?

Yes, I am impressed by those of you already retired who are in such good humor. This board helped me understand that this is a good thing long term for my accumulation phase, especially since I have 20 years left of it! The hardy souls who are drawing down and still smiling are my heroes.

Just remember: when babies smile, it usually means they're pooping their diaper...

By Thursday, I was done crying and starting laughing. My older sisters and mom, told me I was particularly disgusting baby with poop.
