As mentioned in another thread, I'm remodeling a bathroom. I absolutely love the shower valves that are ubiquitous in Europe. If you are not familiar, you set the temperature on one side and the flow rate on the other. No variation or adjustment from one shower to the next unless you want to. If you are not familiar, search on Amazon for "Bathroom Thermostatic Shower Mixer Wall Mount" and you will see several examples.
But all are European imports. Normally I would not have a problem with this but I'd like to stick with American brands so I don't have problems getting parts if I have to replace washers or something in a few years. Does anyone know if any of the big America brands (Moen, Price Pfister, Delta, etc.) makes anything like this? So far I have come up empty. Are they maybe not allowed by American plumbing codes? If that is the case I'd be curious why.
