I think it would be informative to show a histogram (quantization, bucket) chart of the end-values of the portfolios.
Say your end-values range from -1MM to 9MM, break this into twenty-five 400k buckets and count how many end-values are in each bucket. Graph as a bar-chart.
I would expect a bell-curve of sorts.
Yes, I'll acknowledge that it creates a bit of a hyper-focus on the very last year, but I think most users would appreciate. I suppose you could include all the hits from the last five years to spread out the data a bit.
