My favorite quote was told by a sales manager of mine (from some other source) but can be applied to tons of different life scenario's including saving for retirement -

"You never have to recover from a good start"

There is only one success - to be able to spend your life in your own way.
Christopher Morley

Not sure who said this:

"You can always make more money, but you can't make more time"

I'm less than two months from my day.

"I'd rather spend seven days a week doing something I love, than two days a week playing golf and five days a week doing something I hate."

-Alex Stone, "The Donna Reed Show" c1963, although I heard it this morning in reruns.

Ironically, it was in reference to an old lady doctor who refused to retire because she was so passionate about her work. But, I think it could apply to early retirement as well...having every day of your life to be free to do whatever you desire, rather than being trapped by something 5 days a week with a 2-day respite.

How about some song lyrics?

"We shout for the seasons, follow the lines.
We don't ask for reasons, we just waste the time.
I don't wanna live in a world like that!
I don't wanna live in a world like that!

When the beat and the rhythm of somebody's drum,
Is making you ask their permission to run.
I don't wanna live in a world like that!
I don't wanna live in a world like that!"

...

"So we beat to our own drummer in the sun;
We ask for nobody's permission to run.
I just wanna live in a world like that;
Now I'm gonna live in a world like that!"

"When you beat to your own drummer in the sun,
You break from the darkness and tell everyone:
'I don't wanna live in a world like that!
I don't wanna live in a world like that!'"

- World Like That, O.A.R.

I like that song so much for obvious reasons... and made it my sig!
