New open season and funds for TSP

Hello Folks,

I hadn't heard of these changes before. The gist of the article is that after July, there won't be a need for open seasons. Changes can be made at any time. Also, there will be 5 new "lifecycle" funds added this summer.

Thanks for the posting. Mostly these are good developments. The alternative of a life cycle fund for a lot of folks is a good idea. And the ability to make changes at any time will help folks like me. The only problem will be a small number of people who will time/switch funds a lot and maybe drive up costs for others. Or if there is a major drop in one of the funds employees will now be empowered to buy high and sell low.
