Was going to suggest a Heli-coil or thread insert, maybe something like the old aluminum VW head sparkplug hole repair kits, but if that is the decorative pole with the female threads on the left in OP's pictures I'm concerned it is too thin. Not a big fan of JB weld and making a further repair more difficult, think Old Shooter's idea of sticking some threads of stainless (like from a scrubbing pad?) into the female side before threading in the male might take up the slack. Kind of like putting a wooden match or two into a wallowed out door hinge screw hole.
