Top Ten Favorite Movies

Fracture (Anthony Hopkins, Ryan Gosling)
You've Got Mail (love the scenery and the music)
What About Bob? (we laugh through the whole thing each and every time)
Taken (my favorite movie line ever...."I will find you and I will kill you")

I see so many movies I love, plus I can think of others. This is too much pressure on me to make a list of ten. Lol, I can't do it.

I am very immature for my age so my list is a little different
The Hangover
Hot Tub Time Machine
Porkys
Dirty Harry Sudden Impact
Dirty Harry The Deadpool
The Shootist
Star Trek 2- Wrath of Khan
Scarface
Hall Pass
Lion King ( ya, it don't fit in, but I really liked it)

Can't believe that I only have one Hitchcock listed...in no particular order.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Saving Private Ryan
Casablanca
The Last Picture Show
The Bank Dick
Strangers on a Train
Dr. Strangelove
Red River
Cool Hand Luke
Hud

Lots of great movies mentioned already, a few of my favorites that I rarely get a chance to see are:

Something Wild
True Romance
Firebase Gloria
No time for Sergeants
Mr Smith goes to Washington

So many good ones named. When in my retro mood I like:

Bogey/Bacall - Key Largo, The Big Sleep, etc

The actors in The Maltese Falcon

William Powell/Myrna Loy in the Thin Man movies.

Gunga Din

The Red Badge of Courage

Edward G Robinson's character in The Ten Comandments. And Soylent Green.

E.T. tickles my funny bones.

heh heh heh - could name way more than ten. :greetings10:

Arsenic and Old Lace
Yes! I want one of my choices back.
"Insanity runs in my family. It practically gallops!"
"No, Johnny, not the Melbourne method! Two hours!"

And I also want to add:
Ruthless People
Drowning Mona

If in a "naughty", retro, 70s mood, then it has to be Boogie Nights O0

Two of my favorites not mentioned

Twelve Angry Men
The Producers (Zero/Wilder/Mars)

Three I haven't seen on a list, but that I really enjoy:
Jaws
The Parent Trap (the old version)
The Sound of Music

I agree with Purron:
The Third Man (love the music)

Ben Hur
The King and I
The Natural
Star Wars
Cool Hand Luke
Close Encounters of a Third Kind
Rocky
Bullet
Clockwork Orange
Sophies Choice
Bridge over the River Kwaii

Ben Hur
The King and I
The Natural
Star Wars
Cool Hand Luke
Close Encounters of a Third Kind
Rocky
Bullet
Clockwork Orange
Sophies Choice
Bridge over the River Kwaii

I am starting to realize that even a top 20 would not do justice to all of the really good movies. However, I do not think that there are more than 100 in the IMHO list.

I really can't decide which one gets numero uno but this is DWs #1:
Close Encounters of a Third Kind

Beaches
Out of Africa
The King's speech
The Curious world of Benjamin Button
When Harry met Sally
A Beautiful Mind
White Christmas
Seabiscuit
Philadelphia
Midnight in Paris

The African Queen

In no particular order:

Honourble mention to Plan 9 From Outer Space - so bad it is really funny.

1. The Godfather (I)
2. Fantasia
3. Ivan the Terrible (Eisenstein)
4. The Sound of Music
