Treasury yields jump on Thursday as cooling inflation data boosts sentiment

Daily yields will drive you nuts. Look at the trend. The trend is your friend. Yields are dropping - fast.

Yeah don’t pay attention to the daily moves. It’s mostly noise.

But yeah, that headline makes no sense. Yields don’t jump on cooling inflation data. Bond values would jump on cooling inflation data.

It just shows you financial headlines are often nonsensical.

WHY? Yet again I'm confounded by this market.

Is the thread title something you saw somewhere? Care to share the source?

Here is what CNBC says:
10-year Treasury yield rises slightly, but ends November with big decline

Cooling inflation>>lower interest rates>>stronger economy>>more inflationary pressure>>increased yields

Was that announced in the mid afternoon? The market popped in the last half hour.

Feeding frenzy in the bond market this morning. I lost a few orders because I couldn’t get them to fill fast enough. Anything with quality yield is flying off the shelf.

My total bond fund was buying them before the individual investor could pull the trigger.....
