Back a few years ago in the Usenet days I got together regularly with a group of people that played on a local newsgroup. Comcast pulled the plug on newsgroups several years ago and I haven't been inspired to pay for service to one of the newsgroup providers. Once in awhile I check some newsgroups in via Google and there appears to be no activity.
