I recall you had a meter and had measured phantom loads. I searched and could not find the threads, may be too old. Can you repost the info you got, as well as how you figured out what the phantom loads were?

Just asking as DH and I have seen an increase in electric bill, and I attribute it to phantom loads as well as the DVR that he uses a lot. My plan was to unplug as much as possible but he does not think that it will make a difference. Flourescent bulbs are about 50% of the total, and we are gradually replacing.

Thank you. I just could not find the post, but I guess I did originally read it over at SL forums. I now have on reserve at the library the book that was recommended in the thread, "The energy diet". Our bills are less than our neighbors with similar size houses but I bet we can do much better if we try. I don't see that our energy costs will do anything but go up from here.

What are we to think about someone named savedapile asking about loads??
