Anyone know of a good brand for a dehumidifier. Or what size i should get. I figured the bigger the better.

I have had a Sears Kenmore forever, and it still works great. It is for a specific area, like a basement, though.
 
though i don't know much of dehumidifiers, i do know that in florida you must be careful not to oversize your air conditioner. if you do, it will cool off the house too fast without running long enough to take out the humidity and so you wind up with a cool but wet house. i would go with the manufacturers suggested size depending on your amount of space.
 
I just bought a 50 pint Frigidaire to replace another Frigidaire that lasted 15 years. I use it in my finished basement for an area of about 1000 square feet. They're available in 30, 40 and 50 pint sizes.
