Grill Maintenance???

I also have a vintage genesis type Weber gas grill. Its the 900LP circa 1996. Still pegs the temp gauge.

But each year I faithfully swab out the manifold assembly and crossover tubes. Just cleaning the outside doesn't cut it. Are the spider stopper guards still in place?

I must be dumb, but wouldn't a little dose of 450 degree heat kind of "incinerate" the spiders??

Or are we talking tarantulas

Nope. The plastic screens are far from the flames. Spider webs (anything) in the manifold retard the fuel flow - its a bad thing.
