NFL: 2016 Season

With no real standout quarterbacks so far this year, I think Zeke has to be the front runner for MVP.

Dak has certainly been a standout QB. Zeke or Dak could be MVP candidates.

Dak is 15th in yards passing. I think he would have to at least be top 10 to be seriously considered. I think as long as Atlanta stays at the top of their division then you have to put Matt Ryan ahead of Dak. Dak is in the conversation though and there are still several weeks left for it to play out.

+1 of QBs.... Brady, Brees and Ryan are looking better. Dak's yards/game and completion percentage are not up there with the big boys, even though he is having an incredible year for a rookie.

Brady was out the first 4 games of the season and Brees' team has a losing record so those two are out of the MVP discussion in my opinion. Dak's yards/game are actually 6th best in the league. His yds/attempt are third best in the league. The 'problem' with Dak is he has a great running back limiting his attempts. That hurts his stats a bit but he is still a contender.

The Bears at 2-8 now have 2 players suspended for PED's. Funny - The team record doesn't show performance enhancement.

You're entitled of your own opinion but if Brady continues to play as well as he did in his first six games he will be the MVP. His rating of 123 is the best of all QBs and he is on pace for 32 TDs and 2 INTs with a completion percentage of 70.

But I don't think he cares one bit about this individual award as long as he wins another SB.

BTW Jerry Rice won the MVP in 1988 while only playing in 12 games. Look it up.

The data I was looking at listed him as 17th in the league in yards/game.

Perhaps true but I think the *reason* for missing four games is more likely to be a factor than, say, injury or inheriting the starting job mid-season.

Most people go by the AP as the official MVP and John Elway won that in 1987. I guess you could say Rice was the co-MVP since he technically was awarded MVP by one voting group. As far as him winning MVP with just 12 games, 1987 was a strike-shortened year so everyone had 12 games or less.

Not everyone.... 15% of NFL players crossed picket line and played.

Not a bad game last night in Mexico City between the Texans and Raiders. But not a great one either. The most outstanding thing was the absolutely terrible officiating. That game had some of the worst missed and/or bad calls I've seen this year.

Two of the bad calls were real game changers, IMO.

I agree.... really bad calls, and it seemed most were against my Texans!!!

They blew a call on a TD... then a call on a run that had a first down (which the coach did NOT challenge).... and then the next play the runner got it but the ball was placed about 1/2 yard back (short by less than an inch).... coach challenged and you got it... not change even though you could see he had made it... even the announcers said there were many blown calls....

I could "almost" accept the the blown TD call since it looked like Hopkins was very close to stepping out of bounds. So when the official blew the whistle the play was called dead and the defense stopped their pursuit. (like if they could catch Hopkins anyway) Clearly they should have let the play continue and checked to see if he stepped out of bounds afterwards. Very poor judgement. But the blown 1st down calls (twice on the same series) was what I felt was indisputable from the video replays I saw "both times". Makes me wonder if the game was fixed.

Saw on the news last night that someone in the stands kept trying to hit Osweiler in the eyes with a green laser. I hope that behavior doesn't get exported to the states.

Cannot wait for the Dallas-Washington game tomorrow.

Kirk Cousins thinking he is a top-tier quarterback is the same as Ryan Fitzpatrick thinking he needed to be paid more.

Both mediocre.

I saw it a number of times.... since I had it recorded I went back to look.... yep, a green laser in the first half...

BUT, there was also someone with a red laser!!! I saw that in the second half... the announcers even mentioned it once that I heard of... maybe more but I was speeding up the play when nothing was happening....
