Just an FYI I charged them for the hour and they paid without batting an eye...

Did you add an Administrative charge (time to put the bill together)

7% CC payment fee

Low income fee recovery fee (you're on a fixed income now)

Resort fee (your house)

Data charge (hey those bytes don't come free)

spell check fee

if they paid without a negotiation you left $$ on the table?

The consultant I worked with treated me well and I enjoyed teaching and working with him. I have no complaints. I need to be comfortable with my actions. The had me on the phone for an hour I will not charge one dime more.

I'm just goofing. I thought you were consulting in relation to your roofing issue

It's a good lesson all around. The consultant was fair, and you were paid. The next consultant may or may not do similar.
Additional hours and how paid can be addressed in a contract.
