The Shoddy Workmanship Thread

My townhome exterior was painted by a contractor hired by the HOA last summer.
I had them not paint my main patio area, because I recently got all new screens and frames, and I've planted a bunch of new flowers, and I had very low expectations regarding the painter's work quality and care while they painted.

My concerns were confirmed, because they got overspray all over in the areas they did paint.

I was feeling like a crazy perfectionist as I did the painting this early winter, but it turned out nice, and I cleaned up their work to my level of satisfaction.

Nothing worse than a fussy old guy with too much time on his hands. I decided it beats shoveling snow in Minnesota.

Take care, JP

Had a new car when I first started out. The apartment complex was painting. They got overspray on all the cars.

Granted it was long travel overspray, but still was overspray.

The paint company said: "Don't worry, that will buff out." Literally!

Although I was angry, I laughed at this. Like I was going to let those guys buff it out. I instead scraped the windows and did a simple wax job which got it off the clear coat.

Painters... gotta love 'em.
