February underperformance continues. Hurt due to overweight in Apple and to a certain degree "outflows" from savings (I don't differentiate between investment accounts and overall. Now that I am retired, I am definitely spending more $ than what is coming in, eventually that situation should rectify itself when I get social security...whenever I decide to do that.)

Preliminary February 2024 results:
January: -0.2%
February: +0.7%
YTD: +0.5%
YoY: +8.7%
Since 12/31/22:+11.5%
Since high [12/31/21]: -1.6%
Since 12/31/20: +9.9%
Since 12/31/19: +25.0%

Still being hurt big time from Apple, but finally hit an all-time new high.
March 2024 results:
January: -0.2%
February: +0.7%
March: +1.7%
YTD: +2.2%
YoY: +8.1%
Since 12/31/22: +13.5%
Since high [12/31/21]: NEW HIGH, +0.0% (ha ha not many actual $)
Since 12/31/20: +11.8%
Since 12/31/19: +27.2%

Given that I am too conservatively invested, have Apple issues (this year), and cash flow negative (temporarily I hope), I am pleased that I've finally been able to eek out a new high.

I’m amazed anyone can post their numbers for March yet, considering none of my banks and credit unions have posted their interest payments yet.

Same here. I am missing interest for March from several places. I’ll see it tomorrow.

We don't count balances in our bank because those are for ongoing and lumpy expenses. They are not investments.

That's logical and makes it easier to calculate. When I started tracking, I included all liquid assets since I might have the occasional wad of cash at the bank that was destined for the investment bucket. Cash is going to be a drag on the calculated rate, but not a big one if the segregated spending account is a small fraction of the liquid assets. Anyway...

I'm at 3.4% YTD on 2/3 equity. But most of that equity is not S&P 500 and a lot of the equity is international. In hind-sight, I'd not go with the international, especially now that the demographic writing is on the wall and the US is in better shape than most in that regard. But to make myself feel better, I consider my participation in other countries a bit of a 'donation' to the rest of the world, hehehe!

Up 5.53% for 2024 Q1, 36/50/14 AA.
