We averaged about $9 a month since March, which is historically crazy for us. Pre-covid we spent well over $100 a month. Low demand might help explain why gas prices are so low these days, even with hurricanes in the Gulf. I recall a time when even the threat of a hurricane in the Gulf would instantly jack up the price of gas.

I have two vehicles. One I filled up when gas went below a dollar in March and haven't added any since. The other vehicle I would guess an average of $2/wk since March. I don't drive much anyway unless I take an out of state contract for work which I haven't done this year.

We have one car and fill up the tank every week for about $50. In fact, we drive more in recent months than in normal work months. Every week, we drive to a state park for hiking, a neighboring state casino for playing, and two trips for fishing.

Just throwing out my 2 cents. Leaving partially full tanks of gas sit in your car for long periods of time can potentially cause problems down the road. Moisture can build up in your gas tank and cause serious fuel system issues. It's best you research a fuel additive/stabilizer to add to your fuel tank and use it.

Since May, I've been doing some day trips to hike about two hours from home, so a $30 tank of gas lasts about two weeks.

Before that, we went at least six weeks to our first fill-ups once the pandemic started.

Since March 1, my gasoline costs have averaged $17/month. This despite making an effort to drive more just for fun, now that non-essential driving is allowed again. Pleasure drives help us to cope with the other restrictions of the pandemic.

My 2019 average was $31/month. We live in an urban, inner suburb with everything close by.

I just figured the cost for electric on a thousand miles of driving was $14.40. I've been doing about a thousand miles a month lately. Mostly for fun.

Last time I filled up the Wrangler was May, it's probably going to need a tank next month. Our grocery store gives me fuel points for gasoline, I'll get free gas for the couple tanks in the winter. guess I should give them away during the rest of the year.

I have filled up my tank six times or about once a month (~$30) since March. And a little more than a tank worth of that was one trip in June to see my Dad for Father's Day.

Used to be about every 10-14 days. My office is only about 9 miles away, so I don't typically use that much gas even when I used to go to the office.

I spend around 150 euros a month on gas versus 170 pre-Covid. I drive about the same number of miles, it's just that gas got a bit cheaper.

In theory perhaps but not in my experience. My mom's 2007 CR-V sits in a garage for 6 months or more each winter and starts and runs fine each spring without any additive/stabilizer at all. I've been doing that for 15 years and never a problem.

All I do is to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery in the fall and reconnect it in the spring. Starts right up. Let it idle for 20 minutes or so to charge up the battery while I'm topping off the air in the tires with my little 12v air compressor.

Ditto for my truck that now sits in the garage for 6 months.

2 EV's. Electric bill is about $11 a month. Thats for the entire house and cars. One EV gets free electricity at the superchargers.

Due to our drought and high temps, haven't mowed the lawn in 4 weeks, we need Laura to come up here to dump some rain.

I am actually driving more in 2020 than I did in 2019. This is because my (snake-bit) friend had his DL suspended last December after another seizure. This year, like in 2018 when he had a previous seizure and his DL suspended for 9 months, I am driving to his house once a week most weeks instead of him driving to my place most weeks in 2019. Gas prices were a little higher in 2019 than this year, so my total gas spending in the two years isn't that far apart. I fill up once every ~6 weeks and it costs me about $27. So, that's around $18 per month.


My friend won't get his DL back until December, so next year I hope to be driving less again, not that I drive much anyway (around 3,000 miles per year now).

(a) Both SUVs gets mediocre gas mileage.
(b) Distance to stores isn't exactly close here in Central Texas.
(c) I've had several trips to feed someone's cats while they were on travel - I may be doing that again this weekend.

3 cars, four drivers in the house. Older son goes to work daily. Younger son visits girlfriend about half the days (she comes to our house the other days.) I drive to the beach to walk the dog on weekdays. We are spending about $80/month

Before they reopened the beach for walking, and older son wasn't working, and we still had a full ban on in person visits between younger son and girlfriend we went 2 months with NO fillups.

Before someone lectures about younger son and girlfriend we have protocols in place. She (and we) wear masks when she is in the same room. We have the whole house fan on when she's here. Same deal at her house. (Son and girlfriend can be mask free in the same room... they are virtual household members to each other. Her family is as diligent about masks, social distance, etc. We did keep them physically separated for 2 months at the beginning of the shutdowns.
