At 7PM one year ago today, I ended a long 36-hour shift. I checked off duty ending over 34 years as a Paramedic in our county. For the next 10 minutes the airwaves were full of thanks and congratulations coming in.
On Monday I dropped in to deliver a tray of homemade goodies and a Christmas card... they tried to get me to come back to work. I do miss it....

But not that much...

Happy anniversary!
I’m 2 weeks behind you. Retired on 12-30-21.
Have you found it to be an adjustment period and if so, how have you adjusted?

Girly... I'm still adjusting. Many nights I can't hardly sleep. I lay on the couch and drift in and out watching movies. Don't want to disturb the working wife. It's funny that most times, it's when I should have been working nights anyway. Spent way to many times going on 4 hours sleep a night.

Isn't it amazing how quickly the time in retirement goes?
Congratulations on your one year anniversary!

What, no e-goodies for us? :) We could celebrate too.

Congrads.

Happy anniversary and thank you for your years as a paramedic. As a physician for over 32 years now, I definitely appreciate it.

Happy Anniversary and thank you for your 34 years being EMS.

Congratulations on the first year of being retired. Also a well earned retirement after 34 years as first responder.

Nice way to go out - with radio traffic crackling your praises!

May you have more retirement years than w*rking years! Congratulations.

Thank you for the work you did, and Happy Anniversary well deserved.
