We dropped down to 131 class members, but still a good size class. We still have a few days left in the year for others to join, so just turn in your walking papers and let us know so you can be included on the list.
 
I am off this list (#15) as well. I pulled the plug in 2012, then went back to w*rk by choice in late 2013. Will try this retirement thing again next year or the year after.

There goes our 'little extra' this year. :(
 
Met my date - No. 111 on list. Wrapped up Tuesday and done for the year and for good. Now to spend a warm winter away from the cold.
 
I think I stopped working about 2 months ago. Apparently, there was yet another going-away party for me two weeks ago. I heard that the people who attended seemed very happy (actually, "ecstatic" was the word used). Anyhow, I guess I'm done. So, after 40 years of working (if you call being a long-snapper work--and yes, I'm aware of what I just wrote), I'm calling it a day. Truth be told, I never did like bending over like that in Green Bay in a December blizzard. Now, Miami, in October--a completely different story.

Yup! The year is coming to an end. For me it has been quite a year. One of the best years of my life. I retired back in January and it has been a total vacation ever since. There is no way I could ever work another job after having the freedom I have acquired.

I say...If you are on the fence, just do it.
 
Not sure exactly what the rules are for 2014 vs 2015. My last day worked at military megacorp was day before thanksgiving. On am on permanent vacation now until 1 Feb when my name is erased from the payroll. I didn't want any nasty lump sum vacation pay mucking up my ACA subsidy.

I also left the day before Thanksgiving. It hasn't quite hit me that I'm on a permanent vacation but its getting better everyday!

When I first saw this thread I wondered what happened to me and then I realized it was 2014 and not 2015. As for not working in 2014, it almost applies to me. I have really slacked off starting around October. My heart is really not in it anymore but I'm still going in. I'll resign/retire on 5 January 2015. Transition period TBD. :dance:
 
I have worked harder this year, and felt more fettered, at home, than I ever did at w*rk - by all the deferred issues and maintenance. Tenant trouble; fixing up the townhouse for sale; so endlessly much needing to be done to the house; medical and dental adventures; on and on. With all work-related excuses to procrastinate gone, and the pressure on to make our own home potentially sellable, I've had time to get into the guts and details I avoided for so long.

Example: It took over 50 Amethyst-hours to untangle, organize and label my sewing and embroidery supplies. Talk about deferred maintenance! I found hobby supplies I didn't remember owning, and was able to defy the temptation to buy even more.
 
Unless I get fired in the next 24 hours I won't make the class of '14. While I'm getting close I won't make any projections again. Congrats to those who made it!

I made it!!! Wow, maybe I can take your place and be just one seat away from brewer12345 on the risers. How cool would that be? Bet nun would be thrilled. Who ever said 13 was an unlucky number?
Just what time is graduation, anyway?
 
Congrats to everybody who made it this year! I wish you all a very happy 2015: your first full year of retired life!
Hopefully I'll be joining you guys next year.

I am sticking to class of 2014. I was on call until 7AM but did no work since 4PM yesterday and only took one call at 9PM.
