We are having constant rainy weather so SO started ripping out all the molding . My house is now a construction zone . We are replacing all the old molding with new wider molding in a lighter shade . I love having a live in handy man .

I just made sugar-free ice cream with daVinci Bailey's Cream sugar-free syrup. It may be the best dessert I've ever tasted.

Over on the diabetes forum they swear by the DaVinci's sugar free syrups. I haven't tried them yet, but they have an incredible selection of flavors.

I spent yesterday mostly on the freeways going to/from the mid-NJ shore and bought this:D Have to wait for a couple things to get fixed, get insurance, and get a cashier's check for the rest of it. Then I start outfitting & learning my new little vacation cabin on wheels. Wheeee!

Congrats! You did it! Looks like a nice class B built on the Sprinter chassis. Keep the forum posted on the mileage that you get.

PS. I remember that besides you, Kat also expressed an interest in getting an RV. I think she's next. :)

I agree. Very impressive.

FWIW, we got 17.9 MPG between Denver and Lusk, Wyoming. We are in Fort Benton, Montana tonight after a week in the Black Hiils and a slow stroll through Miles City and Great falls. On our way... eventually... to Teddy Roosevelt National Park and Fort Abe Lincoln before heading south again.

(BTW, who cares about gas milage? We paid $15 tonight to stay at one of the nicest (read showers) RV park we have ever stayed at. It was $22.50 last night.)

Easy to say for people who get more than a single-digit gas mileage...

Right. I get at least 13 with my suburban, towing my Argosy. In the mountains.

We have not gone anywhere with our RV... After spending 5 weeks to serve as a juror in Superior Court, meaning driving everyday to downtown Phoenix, I decided that we had procrastinated enough in getting our roof leaks repaired, and our stained ceilings fixed. So, the inside and outside of my home are now in shambles.

The roofing team came early, waking us up at 6AM, tearing the tile roof apart. These poor guys have to start early, so they can quit early at 11AM before the Arizona sun cooks them to well done. The damage under the tiles was horrible, as they removed the tiles and exposed the felt layer.

And then, at 8AM, the drywall people come. My living room, 3 of the bedrooms, and my master closet get ceilings scraped, patched, and to be finished. All our furnitures are now piled up in the other rooms. Some of the leak stains in the bedrooms are not that bad, and I would just dab some paint over them, but the insurance adjuster wanted to "do it right", and I let him.

Arghh...

At least we still have the bath rooms, the kitchen, and the other bedrooms to keep us from feeling like the couple in "The Money Pit".

Sitting in front of our woodstove-type fireplace. Had a fire this morning, and the fan is still pumping out the heat. 52 degrees outside this morning.

Is 52 degrees typical for your area at this time of year? Is it rainy? Just curious because 52 degrees sounds like heaven to us right now. We've been having 100 degrees day with the heat index around 105 plus in the DC Virginia area.

My sympathies!!! But you know, it will be wonderful to have it done and over with (once it is done and over with).

Maybe you can plan the perfect RV trip together, to pass the time while you are waiting. :)

A 100 degree day for you. Yikes.

Last time I got single digit gas mileage was a 1971 Chrysler New Yorker 440 with a dual inlet Holly on it that I had borrowed from my Charger while I was working on the New Yorker's carb. The Holly set up got 15 on the Charger unless I put my foot into it.

Same here, but we're within 80 miles of DC. A guy at work yesterday called from the parking lot - 108 at 6:00 pm according to his car thermometer. I was wearing a light jacket because they keep the building cold.

Too hot for anything outside now, 95 at 10:00 am, even fishing or motorcycle riding. So I'm going to replace the bedroom ceiling fan switch that went bad a few days ago and take DW out to dinner tonight.

I feel bad for anyone with a broken air conditioner now!

Took a day off from my zany social life  and went to Chinese buffet.
It's been in the mid to high 90s here for 3 days with heat indices over 100.
UPDATE: Thermometer shows 99 F in the shade outdoors right now (3:28 PM ET).
It's 85 in my living room. I am wearing cotton and very little of it.
My little window AC unit is a lifesaver. :flowers: I have a large round floor fan sending the cool air down the hallway from the master bedroom.
If we get a brownout or power outtage from too much load down near NYC, my generator stands ready. :D
Enjoying a nice cold Mike's Hard Black Cherry Lemonade. Another favorite flavor is the Cranberry Hard Lemonade. And the Lime...and the regular Lemonade...I just cannot decide so more sampling is required.

I worked in the demo garden this morning and came home with some fresh produce. 12 peaches and 3 tomatoes....all organically grown and just picked this morning. I had a peach and a BLT with a Cherokee purple tomato for lunch. Both were wondefrul.

Yes. We usually get a high of 60 by the afternoon.

No, it's not rainy. It's foggy in the morning about 50% of the time, and sometimes drizzly.

The first few years we lived here we never had to have a fire in the wood-stove in June, July, or August. Last year we had a small fire almost every day. I'm not sure if it's colder, or if we are just less tolerant (64 degrees in the living room this morning, 72 now).

Successful hunting and gathering at the farmers' market.

Made trip to the Allegheny National forest, about a 3 hr drive from home. Went to look at a hunting/leisure/do nothing cabin for sale. It was 86F at noon time and plenty of flies. I'm passing on that cabin, too many close by, and it is not in a good shape. Next.

First time I've been in an actual forest in more than 25 years. Last one was in the Adirondacks.

Just returned from a week long visit with relatives; especially my 93 year old WWII vet uncle. His health is failing but mentally he's as sharp as ever. Had a great time.

I took a shower.

Um, before or after?

Being from Illinois and unfamiliar with clay tile roofs, I find it unusual that every time I go to Az I see a house or condo (10-20 yrs old) getting a new roof. It seems like those roofs should last forever in Az. Just what causes them to fail?
