Just curious about our fails, how we learn from them and how they become lessons.

Thank you

I learned from trying to outperform the stock market that you can't. I'm all index now.

I dropped out of college in 1975 after 2 years. Years later I felt that those 2 years of school would be a waste if I didn't go back and get my degree. So I went back to college part time in 1990 and graduated in 1992.

I've learned to finish things once I start them.

I learned without taking risks you lose, and opportunity doesn't come around that often. I think back on life where I was afraid to fail and held me back from winning and accomplishing more in life.

I lost money on cryptocurrency a few years ago, before the recent adjustment, and I sold my Tesla stock at a very small gain. I don't regret either one, because they were relatively small amounts of our investments, and they reminded me why I don't try to pick individual stocks or other risky investments, and helped me stick with a two-fund portfolio without FOMO. Blowing it at a casino would at least be more entertaining, I can usually last a while on the slot or poker machines.
