ACA for Snowbirds

Wondering how others handle insurance coverage in the situation of spending their time more or less equally in 2 (or more) different states?

My wife and I are early 40's and within the next couple years will leave full time work and plan to split our year between a couple different states.

What we do is enroll in a policy in our state of residence that offers a broad national network of providers, so we can get care anywhere.
