Khan, good work!

Getting back to Aaron's draconian 30-minute feeding window: I just wondered if Aaron is forbidden to snack during work for some reason. Where I work, people bring lunches to eat at their desk, and most also eat snacks all day long.

Are you in an environment where spilled food and drink constitute a hazard--for example, lots of keyboards, or open wounds?

Actually i'm in an environment where food is a contaminant. Food could get on the product so it's not allowed on the floor. I get paid hourly and the 30-minute break is paid so I guess it could be worse.

Khan, I'm impressed that you made it through a bad and depressing winter and early spring without being able to work out yet gained only three lbs. Bowing to you.

I slipped on the ice in Dec and landed on my wrist; haven't exercised since.

Somebody is always saying “this thread is useless without pics,” so I challenge the rest of us to post a picture, and to start the ball rolling, here is a picture of my midsection at 135 lbs.

I figure there is no point in being hungry in order to lose weight, because I would only gain it back again. So I guess 135 pounds is the best I can do without hunger.

SimpleGirl, could it be you’ve added a little bit of muscle weight? When I started working out with weights many years ago I quickly put on several pounds, but my clothing size stayed the same (and not because the manufacturers made the sizes bigger). What’s inside the clothes just got denser.

I think I have added some muscle weight, for sure. I can see more definition in my arms and somewhat in my legs. My pants are fitting somewhat more snugly than I'd like to, though. So either my legs are getting denser and bigger or fatter and bigger. :ROFLMAO:

Oooh, you are brave to post a pic. Looking good!

I could post a pic of my midsection, but that would be cheating, as that has always been my skinny spot. I am the classic pear shape. I confess I am not up to the challenge to post a pic of my butt! :nonono:

Woohoo you go girl!
I never had a figure like that, even in high school. My middle is my Waterloo. However I've got long legs and a tight tush I just maybe might be willing to show off.
So go ahead and start the bidding, men. :greetings10:
Anticipatory drooling is definitely allowed in the binary waiting room.

Thanks...methink "you go" really means "you stay [at this weight instead of immediately putting it all back on where it desperately wants to go!]"

But, what is the binary waiting room? A place where 1-0 types of people can be found?

I think 'binary' was how pics were coded on usenet.

Due to a bout of bronchitis, I've cut way back on smoking.

I think I'm at the limit where not eating much will get me without losing muscle mass. For the last month or so I've been eating a protein shake and coffee for breakfast steamed rice with hot mustard for lunch and then usually some stirfry or a burger for dinner. Prior to this I didn't eat breakfast at all which I hear is a bad thing to do.

4-15-2009 198.2 22% fat
Yeah...I'm definitely at the limit of what diet can do for my body unless I start only drinking liquids like when I had bronchitis. I'm (re)joining a gym today and we'll see if that helps anything.
4-22-2009 199 23% jiggly
Hmmm I seem to be going the wrong way. I did go to the gym last night and drank tons of water so maybe it's just waterweight? Anyway, I'm going to start gyming daily after work and see what I can accomplish.
Goal more muscle; less fat. Looks like I'm going to have to add another notch to my belt pants are getting a little slippy.

5-6-2009 199 23% fat

Ugh must have been a fat week. Only went to the gym once and I haven't been eating all that healthy. ok time to get back in gear... after today.

I think I've reached capitulation. I decided that there are more important things to worry about than every single calorie. So last Thursday we had a nice night out at an Italian restaurant, then we ordered Chinese on Sunday and I had my Chinese leftovers last night.

My shoulder has improved, and my doctor has cleared me for weight lifting. So I'll be adding more body weight (pushup and chinup) exercises into my daily life. We're also getting into tennis season, so this past Saturday I had an hour and a half of martial arts followed by two and a half hours of tennis. Granted, over an hour of the tennis was playing doubles, so that isn't tough exercise, but the rest of the time was high energy. Today will be nearly three hours of martial arts: 1 3/4 hours of taking classes, and an hour of leading class. So I'm getting my exercise.

If the weight comes off, great. I'm hoping the fat percentage will continue to drop as I get stronger, and I'll continue daily weight readings to make sure I'm not gaining weight. But the goal for weight loss will not be quite so all-consuming (pun intended).

Someone should send Kristie an invitation to join our Wednesday weigh-ins. :)

Kirstie Alley: 'Yes, I Gained 83 Pounds' - omg! news on Yahoo!
My guess is she did too drastic a lifestyle change with the Jenny Craig deal and it didn't stick. I give her a lot of credit for publicly 'fessing up to her horse fall. I like her attitude!
And savvy...a good politician always controls her own press releases. :D
She just one-upped the tabloids.

Monthly check in time. I was expecting to report a gain, but we cancelled the camping trip due to rain so I didn't spend all weekend sitting around a campfire drinking beer. Rescheduled for May 30 weekend, so June report will suffer.

I'm slowly sneaking back up on my goal. If I make it it will have taken a year. Slow progress, but still progress. The weather is getting ready to turn nicer so maybe I can make some real progress. We've been doing a lot of landscaping and gardening. This has resulted in a sore back, but not much real calorie burning.

Almost everyone seems to be right with me on the "minimum loss or slight gain" treadmill. But keep the faith. I'm pulling for us all. Go team!

Except Aaron. He's up 3 pounds! :D

233 today, down from 235. Don't know how it happened, since I've not been to the gym (3 day public holiday) and only run once since last friday. Maybe the little extra on the rower and stationary bike is helping after all. Been good with the food too. Targeting 229 by June 6 (DD graduation). No particular meaning to that date, except for that the doc told me over a year ago to lose some or risk not seeing her graduate (overblown pronouncement, I believe, but still need to do it). I think I have about 2-3 years to go before I need to get private/personally funded health insurance. I want to get down well under 200 by then, and hopefully down to around 180. That puts me at the high end of the safe BMI range. Don't want to get rejected for a high BMI. I'm beginning to think I can do it, so long as I keep up extra activity. It would be easier if I was in the states, and had my backyard to keep me moving 8 hours a day for 6 months or so (big 2 acre yard with no landscaping).
