Good time for me to jump in here, since I'm losing weight from my recent surgery. I'll take it any way I can get it. :)

Short Term Goal - 170 lbs and maintaining all through 2009
Long Term Goal - 165 lbs for 2010
High school weight 135 lbs senior year, running track

GOAL: 20 lbs by September 15 (6.6 lbs/month)

6/15/09: 179.0 lbs
7/01/09: 177.5 lbs
7/15/09: 177.0 lbs
8/05/09: 178.0 lbs
8/12/09: 177.0 lbs........18 cycling miles, 737 calories burned
8/18/09: 176.5 lbs........48 cycling miles, 1980 calories burned
8/26/09: 175.0 lbs........44 cycling miles, 2288 calories burned

I can finally report some forward moving progress. My stated goal is still out of reach, but at least I am on track! Just need to move the goal posts (hey, its football season now, gotta plug it where I can)

Purchasing a new, lighter, efficient road bike, setting my cycling goals to 3 days a week, and joining that women's cycling group is keeping me motivated and producing some results. DH was right, I have the nutrition down pat, just needed to up the exercise.

I am rocking now!

2010 is bringing many reasons to trim down: I will be a first time grandmother in January, and first time mother-of-the-bride in the Fall. That means lots of pictures and energy required! New reasons to meet my goals! Downside: Wallet is going to get beat up badly next year!

Have a good week everyone!

Awwh, thank you! I see you have kicked it up a notch yourself - whoop, whoop!

I'll make a toast to the Wednesday Weigh In group with a tasty margarita (or two) this weekend! I'm gonna have to go easy though, b/c I haven't adjusted to drinking at my new weight yet...DH loves to pour me strong drinks! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Curses!! Spent a long weekend away and even though I exercised 'til I dropped with over 5 hrs of tennis I obviously over indulged in eating and drinking.

SG, you really are on a roll, great work again. Enjoy your weekend. I can't imagine what your DH is up to, pouring you strong drinks >:D

Nice going with the weight. Do let us know how well you like your new wheels. I'd definitely like to get a new bike in a year or 2 once we 'up' the amount of riding we do in retirement.

Whoo, I'm back. I had my physical last week and had lost 4 pounds (from June, 2009).

So I'm now at 249 lbs, down from my all-time high of 258 last summer.

Short-term goal: 10 lbs by Christmas 2009 (239 lbs)
Medium-range goal: 40 lbs by Christmas 2010 (209 lbs)
Long-term goal: Target weight by January 31, 2012 (170 lbs)

But I will give myself some strokes: Got my lab results back from my physical and my cholesterol is lookin' good: total is 176, HDL is 65, Triglycerides are 55 and LDL is 100. My doc was pleased, especially considering my weight and family history. Me, too!

Working on portion control right now, with some success. I'm reminding myself to eat so I'm no longer hungry, not to eat until I'm full. Seems to be helping!

Hang in there! I'm proud of you for posting despite the weight gain. We both know how hard that is to do, yet how important it is to keeping on track. :flowers:

Welcome back Urchina! You are definitely on the right track with the portion control. It is key. Some things that have really helped me are: knowing how many calories I can have at each meal; planning my week out in advance (as best I can); making sure I don't go more than 4-5 hours at a time between meals (I eat a snack late afternoon and a small dessert a bit after dinner); sticking to a higher protein/low carb ratio of eating (super helpful!); using calorie controlled snacks (ie. 100-150 cal snack packs) and keeping them at work so I can snack before I go to the gym.

Not that you really asked for advice, but I guess I'm in blabber mouth mode tonight. DH has been traveling a lot lately, and it's getting so bad I am talking to myself and the cat after work when I am home alone!

I've been pretty consistent the last month. Around 6 weeks ago I dropped a couple of pounds, and I'm now floating around 195-196 rather than 199-200. So that part is good.

And, frankly, I'm feeling pretty good about my body right now. It won't win any awards, and I'm not going to be going around shirtless, but today at least I'm feeling good. My fitness level can still be improved, but that could be done at the weight I'm at now. So, just more of the same for now.

dropping a little and plateauing is normal. It's great that you are feeling good about your body - keep up the good work.

I'm down about four pounds since the first time I posted on this thread, 8/6/09. Current weight has held for a week. :D

Another week of consistent weight. Still feeling relatively good about things. I'd like the fat percentage to drop some, but it just is what it is.

The new thing I've thrown into my workout mix is the P90X Plyometric workout once a week. That thing is brutal on the quads. Lots of jumping from a squat position and that sort of thing.

Next week, I'm sure my weight will be a couple pounds higher. I'm going away for a few days, and I'll have lots of unhealthy (but yummy) food.

I'm back after 2.5 months of not posting.

After multiple vacations, a cruise, house visitors, and the flu, I am back on track now and am overall down 24 lbs.

The stack of "too big" clothes continues to grow. Soon I will start donating them.
