Steam Bath vs Sauna

I try to get to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and spend about 40 minutes on the exercise equipment.

The other 3 or 4 days I walk/run outside.

I prefer a steam bath after my club workout and about 15 minutes does it.

I know many prefer a sauna but it is a second choice for me.

I really like steam better. I sweat much more in steam and I feel cleaner afterward. Another benefit , and because it is steam my vision is limited - see photo in this thread for reasons why this is a benefit!

Actually. to me all these folks appear to be rather modestly endowed in the buns department. The guys are typical no-ass white guys; the women fine but more rump would be welcome as well.

OK - getting past the picture

Some cancer treatments that look promising these days involve heating the body for a period of time. Apparently cancer cells are super-sensitive to warmer body temps. I've been thinking I might have to religiously use a sauna as I get older....

I wonder if there has been a study of sauna culture and cancer incidence.....

I think you're supposed to sit on a towel when you use the sauna, and in between uses it probably wouldn't hurt to wash down all exposed wood surfaces with a strong bleach.

What type of culture were you thinking about?!?

I just came from my sauna - nudity and just out of shape males in mine -

Used to take a whirlpool until someone convinced me that the chemicals and other things floating in it can't be good for you....

All I know is, I've had more "fun" in a whirlpool than any sauna, but I feel better when I do the sauna deal............
