I'm going to go out on a limb on this, but from 25 years of child rearing - 2 boys and a girl and using completely unsupported scientific measures...I'm going to say it and I'm going to say it LOUD - girls require more maintenance.
And while I'm at it, grown women are expensive too! Just my 2 cents. :D

Re: Girls Cost More than Boys to Raise

Ahem, that's $350 per hour :D

Re: Girls Cost More than Boys to Raise

Dan, are you just looking to be destroyed by the women on the board? Didn't you start some other thread picking on the XX crowd? ;)

I for one, find every woman on this board to be intelligent, thoughtful and engaging, with great senses of humor to boot. :D :D :D

Seriously, what about car insurance and broken windows?

By the way, what does $200 and $350 get you now a days?

My lawyer charges $210, but that's another story....

Apparantly, your wife (unlike Laurence's wife) doesn't read the forum. ;)

Re: Girls Cost More than Boys to Raise

I won't post my pics but I will introduce you to the most famous high end *working lady* in the SF Bay Area. She used to charge $1500 for a two hour minumum.... until she got busted by the IRS and then she ran off and married the founder of Ask Jeeves. Read the following articles:

Woman allegedly pays off Stanford Law loans as call girl
By Josh Richman
Oakland Tribune

Sunday, September 19, 2004 - OAKLAND - Federal prosecutors argue the government should keep $61,000 in cash seized from an Oakland woman who allegedly worked as a high-priced call girl to repay student loans from her time at Stanford Law School.

Court documents detail how agents sifted through trash, conducted surveillance, interviewed clients and a colleague, pored over tax returns and surfed the Internet to build a case for keeping money seized from Cristina Schultz, 31, who used the name "Brazil" and charged $1,300 for two hours of her services.

But, all jokes about the declining value of a Stanford law degree aside, Schultz hasn't been charged with any federal crimes.

Federal civil asset forfeiture laws let the government keep property - in this case, money - representing the proceeds of a federal crime even if the owner hasn't been convicted or even charged with the alleged crime. The government claims the money was involved in money-laundering transactions and the proceeds of interstate prostitution.

Civil libertarians long have complained that while criminal proceedings put the burden of proof upon prosecutors to prove someone's guilt, the forfeiture laws essentially put that burden upon the property's owner to prove he or she is innocent.

Robyn Few, director of the Sex Workers Outreach Project, which is backing a Berkeley ballot measure to decriminalize prostitution, said it's a form of blackmail.

"They think we're going to pay the federal government to be quiet, we're going to give up everything we've got. It's extortion, that's the bottom line," she said. "It's, 'Let's extort the whores because they're so ashamed of who they are that they'll be too afraid to stand up for themselves.'"

Efforts to reach Schultz by phone, e-mail and in person were unsuccessful.

Special Agent Mark Lessler, spokesman for the IRS Criminal Investigation Division office in Oakland, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Hinds, who's prosecuting Schultz, declined comment.

Luke Macaulay, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in San Francisco, said it's not uncommon to seek asset forfeiture without any criminal charges. A Justice Department Web site says the asset forfeiture program's purpose is "to disrupt or dismantle criminal organizations that would continue to function if we only convicted and incarcerated specific individuals."

Schultz's Web site remained active this week. The Web site, depicting her in various lingerie-clad poses, describes her as a "Portuguese-speaking entertainer and physical model."

"The quintessential Gemini, I am an unusual mix of well-educated good-girl and erotic-Bachian-sensualist, with some down-to-earth sweetness thrown in," it says. "I am sure you will never forget any time you spend with me and I look forward to meeting you soon."

Her home page's fine print says "Escort services advertised on this Web site are for companionship and dating only."

But clients posting reviews of Brazil's services at another Web site gave her rave - and sometimes, explicit - reviews as recently as February 2004, a month after Internal Revenue Service agents seized evidence and $61,171 from Schultz's Oakland apartment, storage locker and safe deposit box.

The government's forfeiture complaint filed in July says Schultz operated an interstate prostitution business at least since August 2001 - three months after earning her degree at Stanford Law School - by charging up to $1,300 for two hours, $5,000 for overnight and $15,000 for three days to serve clients in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago and Seattle.

The complaint says investigators in September 2002 searched trash put out from Schultz's Palo Alto apartment, recovering items such as a law book containing $2,400 in $100 bills; bills and invoices from Washington, D.C., hotels; business cards in the name of "Brazil;" condoms; invoices for large cash purchases; tax records; an admission card for the July 2001 California Bar Exam; and a promotional postcard from a Southern California woman.

That woman, when arrested for solicitation in January 2003, told officers her friend Brazil had gotten her started in prostitution. She also told officers they'd worked together as prostitutes.

The complaint notes Schultz's tax returns reported only $28,717 in income from 1997 through 2002, but investigators found she deposited more than $45,000 cash to an account she'd opened at a Washington, D.C., Bank of America branch in 2002. Those deposits slacked off after she opened an Oakland safe deposit box from which agents seized cash in January.

"My investigation indicates that there is a large discrepancy between the income that Schultz has reported to the IRS and her expenditures and the lifestyle those expenditures have allowed Schultz to become accustomed to," reads a January affidavit filed by IRS Special Agent Anthony Ghio.

"Based on my training and experience, generally people whose adjusted gross income is consistently less than $13,500 a year are not able to put themselves through Stanford Law School, lease a $70,000 Mercedes-Benz for $1,486 a month, live alone in a $1,800-a-month apartment, pay off almost $300,000 in loans, compile savings over $10,000, build a cash hoard of $40,000, throw away $2,400 in cash and buy postal money orders totaling $13,500 all at one time."

PROSECUTORS SAY WOMAN AMASSED HER FORTUNE AS HIGH-PRICED CALL GIRL OPERATING ON INTERNET
By Dan Reed
Mercury News

Considered bright by her classmates, Cristina Leeann Schultz studied hard at Stanford Law School to become an attorney. But then she turned away from law to service a different kind of client.

She worked and worked and finally paid off more than $300,000 in student loans, under the stage name of Brazil, a call girl who roamed the country to turn ``high-priced hottie'' tricks, the federal government claims. Her attorney says she simply ran a very successful Internet escort service.

Whatever her enterprise, Schultz is now far from a starving student. She's done very well. So well that federal agents rummaging her trash found $2,400 in $100 bills in a discarded law book.

This all came to light after the federal government searched her then-residence in Oakland in January, seizing about $61,000 in cash. Prosecutors have not filed charges of prostitution, or money laundering or tax evasion, although they allege all three. They do say the money is ill-gotten gains, and they've filed an asset forfeiture complaint to keep it. Schultz is fighting to keep her cash.

Her Internet site is still active. But the last day on her posted schedule of appearances is April 23 -- just a few days before she married David Warthen, an Internet mogul who co-founded the popular search engine Ask Jeeves and is now on the board of Kozoru, a new Internet search engine.

Mystery swirls around Cristina Schultz. Her Web site says she came from Porto Alegre, Brazil. Try less glamorous Chula Vista. It says she's 26; try 31. She is, however, a Gemini, as she says on her site.

Records show she graduated from Stanford Law School in May 2001, UCLA before that, although they do not show her as passing the state bar exam.

Neither she nor her husband or family will talk in detail about Schultz, but her former classmates say she is a smart woman who boasted about appearing on the skin-heavy ``Baywatch'' television show at least once.

``She showed up to class and had good comments,'' said Ty Clevenger, now with a law firm in Washington, D.C. ``It's sad and it's frustrating because I think she's very intelligent. I think she's smarter than that.''

Rumors had always swirled about the pretty, busty Southern California woman in the rarefied air of one of the country's most expensive and best law schools. Among them was that she posed for Playboy magazine.

What is known, according to federal documents, is that since 1999 Schultz lived the high life, leasing luxury cars such as a Mercedes-Benz CL500, worth $75,888, and often having large reserves of cash.

In January of last year, a police report stated, her friend Brenda Tess Broussard was arrested for solicitation for prostitution. Broussard gave up her friend, ``Brazil,'' federal records show. It was Brazil, she said, who taught her the ropes of Internet prostitution.

An undercover IRS agent found Internet postings of 82 men who claimed to have had sex with Schultz for cash.

Schultz said on one Internet posting, the government contends, ``I have paid off 100 percent of my student loans, and I have tried to send a positive message to SF escorts re: assumptions about the nature and social status of women in the business.''

Her rates for being an escort? $1,250 to $1,300 for two hours, $2,200 for four hours, $3,000 for six hours, $5,000 for overnight, and $15,000 for three days.

It's not clear how Schultz met Warthen, a software entrepreneur who has done well for himself. His search engine, which uses conversational English in queries, was launched June 1, 1997. In divorce papers, he lists more than $7 million in liquid assets.

Wed in San Diego before about 80 guests, Cristina and David Warthen now live in his $1.15 million estate in Orinda. Schultz's lawyer says she no longer is an escort, but she still does give live chats on Sunday and Thursday nights on CameraCafe, a Web site owned by Warthen.

Yeah, but just do a gender survey at your local emergency room... girls require fewer repairs.

And when's the last time you heard a girl say "Here, Bubba, hold my beer and watch this..."?

I suspect that fewer girls are present at the Darwin Awards ceremonies, too, although I haven't factored life-insurance premiums into the equation.

Re: Girls Cost More than Boys to Raise

Sounds like free market supply and demand to me. Schultz seems like a
sharp lady.

An aside..........this seizing property before anyone is even charged
(much less convicted) is just another example of the erosion of our rights, and why I continue to state that the Bill of Rights is on its
way out.

Re: Girls Cost More than Boys to Raise

As for medical costs, it is my experience, that over time women cost so much more. A complete medical discipline (GYN) is based on female plumbing problems.

I have often wondered how any of them crossed the continent in wagons during the westward expansion. The current paper product billing rates are enough to give pause before co-habitating. Then there are issues such as matching bathroom sets and dust rufflers for the bed set.

As for the hourly rate, I noted that the discussions here about living in Thailand carefully avoided the biggest savings for the cost of goods and services.

I admit this girl could make a dead man horny, but those Holstein style basketballs on her chest are not to my taste.

As Dickie, my mentor back in high school told me, "Who cares how big they are, as long as she likes you to touch them?"

I'm disappointed in you Ha.  Those "basketballs" as you call them, are clearly quite natural.
What I took note of (as any connoisseur would have) was her impeccable  set of pearly whites.  Obviously, the result of excellent braces and superior whitening.
Holstein style basketballs  How terribly crude  :'( :'(

Well, the only thing I notice in that picture is the mini-kiltie on that lassie. I'm thinking nothing is worn underneath and what is underneath is worn.
