I modified this cause I'm seeing lots of whacky stuff in SF and some of you might be familiar enough to tell me if it always like this.

Re: Nothing

Ed, yeah man. Yeah. That's what it is, a bad day. Not sure if another is next or what?

Re: Nothing

Hey, you're in a new place--it's going to take a little time to get accustomed to things--to build friendships, learn the ropes, etc. But, you know things will come together, they always do.

What's going on?

hey OAP, you just messing around or is something going on?

Re: Nothing

Vagabond, hope to hear some travel tales from ya soon.  Not really hurtin but I feel kinda tired and gonna go by the hospital Monday.  Started the thread with some tales from SF but realized nobody was responding and so I canned it.

Bruce1,
Thanks and I appreciate the good thoughts.  It's a bright sunny morning here and my neighbors are putting on a porno show so I'm gonna go out for a walk.

Re: Nothing

Patience, grasshopper. We were all checking out your building's views and rents when you decided to can your thread.

Re: Nothing

Wab,
I am a patient :D Nah, if I posted some of the stuff I'm running into during this process it would just clutter Other Topics, and there are some good threads that should stay at the top.

BTTT

Re: Nothing

Hey OAP, keep your chin up. You are in a beautiful, interesting place with lots to do and see. If you are getting down, go do something new and possibly out of character. How about a day of deep sea fishing? There are lots of boats at the piers that will take you out for the day and it van be a really good time (assuming you don't ralph).

Re: Nothing

brewer,
Your posts always have good advice, thanks for the suggestion and the bay is so spectacular that I might just start riding the ferry around a lot.

I love eating swordfish but I get the impression that one of those big fish might pull my hummingbird ass off a boat.

Cheers,
Captain OAP

Well,
a) you wuz doin' the talkin', not us, and,
b) sometimes it's better that way.

I was waiting for further accounts of your wild adventures. ;) Still am. Rock on, man. How is The Haight these days?

Re: Nothing

Ed,
I met a young thing from Haight and she is into ghosts. I'll start a blog rather than clutter this board. Notice the time is after the witching hour. She's not going to be a close friend but I do intend to plumb her knowledge of ghosts.

Re: Nothing

OAP-

I want to add my name to the list of members (breathlessly) awaiting your continued adventures. :D

I think if you just continue on one thread then you wouldn't be "clogging" up this board. Please reconsider and just post here - although a blog may give you more scope - it's up to you. Just I guess saying that I for one think that what you have to say would ADD to this board. We all need to see how we can have ER adventures, too.

Expand our horizons ............

Jane :)

P.S. What ever happened when you fell down? Are you ok? Any stitches or casts required? (Enquiring minds gotta know) :D

Well Cap'n, if plowing the occean furrows isn't your thing, then pick something else. What I was suggesting was tyring a basic jack move when things get less than fun: go do something completely different you have never done and nobody who knows you would have guessed you would do. Gets you out of your rut and maybe turns you on to something that's interesting and fun.

Jane thanks and I will throw a few tales out for review. Some I can't because Martha would spank my pp :D

Sunday I walked from Nob Hill to Fisherman's wharf at lunch cause I got tired of watching the couple next door boinking.

I saw a 25 yo showing off for his girl friend by revving his scooter while she was beginning to sit behind him. Just as she lifted her leg, he accidently put it in gear and launched himself about 10 ft across the sidewalk and slammed into a store front window. This huge plate glass window flex inward about a foot and did not break. It happened about 6 ft in front of me and I thought the guy was dead but he was just stunned.

At Fisherman's Wharf I ate shrimp at an open air fish market when in comes a bum totally unnoticed by me and announces in a voice that sounded like God was talking, that he needed $1.30 for a sourdough cheeseburger and nobody moved. He then began to recite in a perfect poets manner:

"When I first took up my abode in the streets, that is, began to spend my nights as well as days there, which, by accident, was on Independence day, or the fourth of July, 1995..."

Several people then gave him some change.

Saw a young French girl about 12 and she had the shortest skirt I've seen since the early 70's and didn't mind bending to give me a peek. Of course I didn't look.

Now here's one that I may put on a blog but the jist is: I was going to Haight Ashbury this morning and a friend told me he wouldn't go there. Well I never made it, about half way there I walked down Market St. near 7th St. It's evidently the sex center of SF. Well needless to say they start asking what you're looking for and I get accosted by the most persistent gay dude on earth and he walks along with me. I nearly started running. Damn

Ah, the single life of a free man. Keep the stories coming OAP. You could easily put up a blog with this stuff. And here's a freebie for you if you have the bandwidth (and it isn't being hit by 50,000 pervs at once): http://www.checkoutmybreasts.com/main.htm

Yeah OAP, keep the stories comming. I'm not sure they have internet connection in the local jails. :D

73,
yeah, the local jails have Internet connection thru RCN but it's only DSL, no wireless.

I saw an interesting experiment in Uni. In some Psyco class we got a slide show of the female form from the back and asked to rate it.

Anybody go to UCLA and have that test?

I'm not even going to ask how you know this fact LOL

I was in SF a few months ago and went to Haight Ashbury for the first time since a couple of visits in the more interesting 60s. I was curious to see if I could find an apartment on Haight that I stayed in for a few days in 1969 which, understandably, is now just a hazy memory. The area seemed pretty safe and sane to me -- lots of pretty Victorian Houses, a handful of 60s nostalgia shops, a Ben and Jerry's.

Why is your friend leery of the place?

I'll be sticking around NY for another 4 to 6 weeks b4 I head out. I don't think my stories will be near as colorful as yours. Did you say she was 12 yo? >:D :police:

You need to develop that NYC stern and mean look to keep those suckers at bay. I am glad I'm getting out of this city cause these stories don't seem to phase me much.
Although, I only spent about 3 weeks many years ago, I always thought SF was my kinda town, a smaller, quieter version of NYC. ;)

vagaond, yep.
12 yo and hot beyond hot.

I agree with the SF and NYC comparison. I spent several months in NYC in 1976 and SF seems like a slightly less hot version of that city.
