Not sure what the ruling would be if while addressing your ball on the fairway or green you were hit by another players golf ball and that caused you to accidentally move your golf ball. I think that might fall under a ball moved by outside agency, replace and no penalty. Anyone know?

Rule 18-5. A ball at rest moved by another ball must be replaced, no penalty.

So I back off and a couple of seconds later a ball dribbles up my way. The ball barely made it to the tee box but had just enough steam to knock my ball off the tee. My playing partner almost fell out of his cart laughing. I wonder what the odds are of that happening? Probably similar to winning the lottery. I would have preferred the latter.

A number of years ago I was playing an uphill par 5. My playing partner had hit his second shot and his ball was sitting in the middle of the fairway on this long uphill approach about 100 yards from the green. I hit my second shot with a fairway wood and my shot hits his ball on the fly! Never before and never since.

Played twice last week & had 'mirror image' rounds: good front/bad back, then bad front/good back.

HI has gone up a bit lately. It's like my lessons had a short half life. :(

You may be whatever you resolve to be.

Inconsistency...Grrrr!

Played two different courses this past week; Earl Fry in Alameda, CA & Hiddenbrooke in Vallejo, CA. Both were enjoyable rounds but, the inconsistency btwn the two is very frustrating. The first round, I hit 10 fairways, had 31 putts, one 3-putt, and no pentaly strokes. The second round, the very next day, I hit 5 fairways, had five 3-putts, and lost three balls.

I don't think I'm going to invite that second guy again. :trash:

Oh, heck.... I can be that inconsistent just between the front and the back. Both my rounds last week I was 5 strokes better on the back than on the front and only lost one ball between the two rounds.

The only thing consistent about my game is my inconsistency. I can shoot a 50 on the front and a 40 on the back and not really feel like I am doing anything differently. Golf acronym, Go Out Laugh Frequently.

That's the most important thing I learned from my golf lessons. The fundamental flaws in my swing produce inconsistent results. Accepting that reduces stress significantly :)

On a somewhat separate subject, I'm looking into buying a battery powered push cart. I like to walk but our course is very hilly and it would make walking easier. Does anyone have any experience/recommendations with these?

ever try one of these?

https://www.tempomaster.com/

I have a driver, 3 wood, 5 iron and PW - all I need is a whippy putter

I wonder what I'd fire with just those 5 clubs lol.

I can hit my whippy driver about 200 or so.

I use a regular Sun Mountain push cart but their is one in our group that uses a battery powered one made by Bat Caddy, not sure what the model is. He uses a remote control to drive it around, seems to have held up well. He plays 3X a week and has been using it for at least the last 2 years.

Here's a good review article with some informative videos.

Tomorrow's the start of the club championship. I missed qualifying for the championship flight so I'll be playing in first flight. 3 Rounds of match play to win the flight. If I play like I did on Wednesday I'll be beaten by the 10th hole. If I play like I did today I'll have a good shot of winning. Were you guys talking about consistency?

Any of you folks get selected in the Masters ticket lottery for 2017? I just got an email saying I was selected for practice round tickets! Didn't get so lucky with actual tournament tickets, but hey... definitely not complaining. Just being on the course at Augusta for part of Masters week is such a treat. Anyone else get lucky and score practice round or actual tournament tickets in the lottery?

Not me, I've put my name in every year since they started the lottery and have never been selected.

pb4uski 07-01-2016 08:00 PM

I struck out on both tournament and practice round tickets.

I did get lucky. Got Tuesday's practice round tickets. This is the 3rd time my name has been drawn since they started the lottery. I've been a few times when friends had tickets too. But have never been to the actual tournament rounds. This will probably be the last time I go for a practice round, but will go again if I ever get a regular ticket.

Hi just wanted to join in on the fun. I'm 36 and based in CA. Not sure if I am retired yet, or just taking a career break. Playing for 2 years. Currently a bogey golfer and hope to be much better in time.

We're currently traveling for nine months around Asia and the Pacific. It's interesting to drop in on driving ranges around the world and it kind of feels like home with dedicated people just trying to work on their game.

I've played a lot of cool courses out here too, including Sentosa (Serapong) in Singapore last week (for free too!) and the newly-opened Bana Hills in Vietnam.

Anybody else get the Citi Prestige card that gives 3 free rounds a year?
