What is your "goto" junk food?

It varies. I can almost polish off a "family size" bag of barbecue flavored potato chips in one sitting so I rarely buy them. Chocolate mint ice cream is pure evil in the summer so we both try to stay out of that aisle. At the moment I'm being tempted by a bag of gluten-free bagels in the freezer and a package of cream cheese. I should never have bought them.

chocolate, but I'm trying to switch to dark chocolate 72% cocoa..it's supposed to be better for you

Assorted cheeses. Either solo, on crackers, or (like right now) tucked into the groove of celery stalks.

Currently watching some guys up in NH going really fast and turning left.

For salty, baked Cheetos. I stick to the little ~100 calorie packs; otherwise, I'm needing elastic waist pants. :(

Nuts or popcorn. Today I had a brownie, pretty useless calories. At least it was made with cannaoil.

Cheetos. Used to get a small bag from vending machine at work mid morning, pretty much gave up after retirement. Last 6 weeks been working on rehabbing DS house for his return from overseas and the damage from renter. I've fallen off the wagon. Big bags. Orange fingers.

Cheetos are my crack of desire. I can't buy them because I would have orange fingers every day. They are an occasional spurge. Maybe 4-5 times a year. My daily junk food is dry roasted peanuts.

Chocolate.

Ice cream, cake, cookies, candy, it's all good. If it's in the house, it will get eaten. I used to love the "healthier" dark chocolate, but unfortunately I have developed a taste for the creamy milk chocolate stuff recently.

I think many of you need to Google the definition of "junk food".

Is my wife reading this thread?

If so, it's organic carrots.

If not, the truth is Doritos.

I used to have a weakness for Doritos but then....

We went to a class taught by a dietitian a while back and one of the things she pointed out was look at the ingredients listed on the package. The list on Doritos was an incomprehensible mess and the list on Fritos is simple: corn, oil, salt.

Ergo, Fritos are healthier than Doritos so now I eat those instead.

Yep, my wife says the same thing: "If you read the list of ingredients, it would make you sick".

I always reply: "That's why I don't!". :D

Herr's Red Hot Chips. But cannot get them in Europe, alas. My wife is pleased. But we are traveling to the US in November and I already told her I'm planning to eat 1 bag per day to at least try to catch up. She is resigned to this.

The second is chocolate.

Sounds like Zantac should also be on your list.

I make popcorn from simple jolly time popcorn kernels in the microwave with no added nothing: no salt, no butter, no flavoring. I use a bowl for the purpose:

Then I add:
nutritional yeast flakes (see youtube videos on how to make it coat/stick to the popped corn)

and a few shelled pistachio nuts (about one per mouthful of popcorn).

Not very junky, but I like it.

Mine is potato chips , I feel like I am an expert on potato chips . Used to visit Big Lots for their gourmet ( very different potato chips ) . I can eat a monster bag in one sitting then feel real guilty.

Dark chocolate, Fritos, Mint Oreos.

I limit myself to something in the four food groups:

A. Cookies
B. Candy
C. Cake, or
D. Chips

For the Brittish Open, I went with Fritos although a scone may have been more appropriate. Although Tiger played well, i think he is a long way from winning another major. The kids today are just as impressive as Tiger was 10 years ago.

I

Smoked gouda .... or string cheese. Bought a large bag of string cheese yesterday and somehow it's 1/2 gone. I'm thinking there were only 10 sticks instead of 16?
