I have 3 laptops. The nicest one I bought to replace my home desktop. I got the big screen. I like the screen real estate but I have never travelled with it. It is just too big. But it can move room to room sometimes.I am always inclined to go for more screen ‘real estate’ when ever possible. When at home My laptop has a large secondary screen attached to it. I often have multiple apps running.
I guess we need a bit more info. How do you use the laptop? How much do you travel with it? What size do you have now? If this your primary computer?
I had a 17" laptop and thought it was just a little bulky, especially when traveling, plus it didn't fit in my nice SwissGear laptop bag. Picked up a lightweight Asus Vivibook 15.6" last year and very happy with it. Didn't realize they made a 17" laptop under 3 lbs., can imagine it must be pricey.
But for home use is low weight really worth paying more for? This 17 inch laptop at only 2.95 lbs just came out this year 2019. It’s insanely light, and battery life at 19.5 hours .. but reviews says 10-12 hours realistically. They also claim it has the same dimensional footprint as most 15.6 laptops, as they try to fit a 17 inch screen in the chassis of a 15.6

Works fine in Business Class....Get the smaller screen and when home use and external big screen, i have a 17" unusable on a plane, too big.

Thanks everyone. I just ordered the 17 inch from Costco, which has a 90 day return policy. Will see if it fits my needs. I dont want to strain my eyes too
