Snow near Phoenix not normal?

This is the most I've seen in 17 winters that I've come here. Sometimes there is a dusting on the peaks. Many of the locals had never seen this much snow, let alone in north Scottsdale.

Scottsdale doesn't have snowplows to my knowledge - I think the roads were plowed by road graders from construction sites. I attached a video - hope it comes through.

Nope. According to several of the people we know who have lived here for over 50 years, this was the coldest, wettest winter in their memory. Scottsdale covers a large area - the far north portion is at about 3,500 feet - they received more snow than the southern part of the city. We are at about 1,500 feet and we had mostly rain, with a few flurries. Fountain Hills. about 12 miles to the east, had measurable snow in the 1 to 3 inch range, but it had melted by the next day.

As far as I know, there are no snowplows in the greater Phoenix area. We are far more prone to flooding as the drainage is really poor.

Portland OR has to borrow snowplows from Seattle when they have snow. They used to get very little and it always melted by the next day. The past few winters have been much colder with more snow than in the past. And their summers have a few over 100 degree days which has not happened in the last 30 years.

Got a nice Bald Eagle photo a couple days ago. First one I've been able to get in a tree with leaves when they or limbs are not blocking the bird. Handheld Canon 80D with Canon 100-400 MK II 1/1250 at 5.6 ISO 250.

Wow, that's impressive, and at ISO 1000!

I couldn't believe it was at ISO 1000. I took several shots from ISO 160 to 1000 and the ISO 1000 is the most crisp. This 70-300 lens is weird. Sometimes a soft shot, sometimes a crisp shot. I find that I can get a crisp shot if I'm holding the camera very still for a few seconds before taking the shot. Maybe I just have to get my shutter speed up high to compensate for any movement.

The yearling cub standing was from the side of the road about 15' away! Shooting through the window of our motorhome of course.
The other was about 200' away shot with my Olympus EM1-2 and 100-400 Panasonic lens.
I have another one where a small female grizzly walks about 10' away from a group sitting. Our guide told us it would walk right there and moved us about 50' feet away. The other guide seemed clueless....

Matching Monitor Image to Printer Output

I have been struggling to make the images I see in Photoshop on my Samsung monitor closely match the photo prints from my Canon Pixma 100 printer.

I spent the last several days working with a screen reader (Photomunki) and have had some success but still not right in the areas of Red and in some cases the over all Brightness of printed images as compared to my monitor.

Any tips on doing this? I have loaded all new ink cartridges, used color test images in printing for comparison, and am now at a loss.

b. I would send an image to a local printer like Walgreens, etc. See what their print looks like. That could narrow it down to either your printer or your monitor.
That's what I do before sending an image out to WHCC for printing. My local Walgreens prints up to 8x10 for about $4 in a couple hours. You could even crop out a certain area to check out.

I have the Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer and used a Photomunki to calibrate the screen and printer, and I'm happy with the results. What type of display monitor do you have? Are you sure it will display all the colors properly?

I just bought a Viltrox EF-M2 II adapter and speed booster that allows me to use my Canon lenses on my Panasonic Lumix 4K M43 camera. I tested it the other day at the Los Angeles Zoo with a Canon EF 70-200 F/4L (98-280mm F/2.8 on the Panasonic). The results were amazing. Here is a sample of the 4K video that I recorded.

I just bought a new Lumix camera, and the online instruction manual is an imposing 315 pages. I don't know if it's possible to learn everything that these cameras are capable of doing. Now it's time to practice, practice, practice.
