I assume people at the top of a political food chain will get therapy sooner than others would if nothing else to protect the military chain of command. Meant as a statement of governmental priorities to the President regardless of party and not as a partisan statement.

Following this logic they may get the plasma antibody therapeutic treatment way before symptoms get severe.

Anyone know enough about this therapy to know if it can prevent most symptoms if given early and often to exposed people of positional authority? I assume congress, supreme court, and top military people would get similar treatments if it works.

Good point about the POTUS and those around him getting the best available care. And he was fortunate to become infected now, after we've learned so much about which treatments work and which don't. Presumably, he'll get better and things will go back to whatever "normal" is these days. Maybe this is a buying opportunity?

Hope Hicks tested postitive earlier so some may jump to a conclusion that they got it from her, but it is wholly possible that the three of them got it from someone else. VP and his wife are reported as testing negative but it might be that he has covid and symptoms have not yet occurred.

I suppose one could have Covid and get a false negative, but I don't think the results of a test depend on whether one has symptoms or not.

Where did I say that test results depend on symptoms? The point was that they may have contracted the virus but it hasn't yet infected them to a degree where they would test positive.... but in days the virus my incubate more and they will later test positive... so my understanding is that they will continue to be tested.

Guessing Donald and Melania both got it from Hope or another source since D&M seem to socially distance from each other.

I fortunately am at least 1 step removed from anybody with Covid. No real understanding of how much interaction required for it to spread. Be interesting if the Trump kids or other staffers get it since they seem not to mask when together.

Testing does not prevent the virus from infecting anyone. 30% tests give false negative results. I can test negative, put on a mask go to the grocery store, come in contact with someone who is not wearing a mask and have a false sense of security that I'm still protected and negative.

To hear someone say I tested negative this morning should be followed with did you wear a mask when in contact with anyone and did they wear a mask? This is a serious topic, but I have to add something humorous to break the negativity. The South Park Pandemic Special is hilarious. We must be mindful but keep a positive outlook.

+1 about the testing negative is a false sense of security. Only negative to that point. But after the negative test one goes out about, then all bets are off.

That's why why when test results were taking so long, the tests were pretty much meaningless if one had gone out in public.
