Can anyone tell me how we find out who our Fidelity rep is? Thanks.
Thanks for the info. Looks like we must not have a rep.
...I don't seem to be able to find the path to a downloadable version. I know this has been a bit of an issue in the past but I've always been able to find my way to the download. Is it possible that they are only offering the online version this year? Has anyone else been able to get the download?...
I only see the path to the online version. Is there a way to get the download?
Same as others, the free TurboTax Premier offer finally appeared on my Fidelity Home page this morning. As in the past, they try to suck you into the online version. If instead, you want to download the CD/desktop version, follow these instructions:
On the first Intuit screen you come to, don't click any of the 4 options. Instead, scroll down until you see, in very small print, "TurboTax CD/download also available." Click the button that says, "See Products." Now, click the "Buy Now" button under Premier. At that point, select your OS, and then you can purchase Premier for $0 and download the desktop version. I had to login to my Intuit account and it sent a 2FA code. It also asked to confirm my phone number and billing/shipping info. But then it gives you the License Code and a button to click for the download.
Whew, thank for the instructions. I got there - TurboTax is "locked and loaded" for 2021, so to speak
I've got my calendar marked to buy TurboTax on Amazon the day after Xmas, 12/26.
I don't remember why, I'm retired...
For those of you that can't find the download link, this seems to be the URL to access:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
You'll need to follow the link from Fido first (to set cookies in your browser), and then access that URL.
At present, we are using the "What If" in the FORMS section of Turbo Tax Premier 2020 for 'Estimating the 2021 income & taxes'.
We plan to buy Turbo Tax early next year as all the updates will be in by then.
Would buying Turbo Tax now as opposed to next year give us any advantage in firming up the year's income & taxes ??
I have been using Dinkytown for tax planning. I have a fairly simple, tax form but I have LTCLs, Dividends and interest and IRA withdrawals. But it has a lot of inputs in the drop downs.
Probably not. I bought it early this year because we wanted to figure out how much my parents should withdraw from their IRA to get the most advantage of their memory care medical deduction. https://www.irscalculators.com/tax-calculator gave us the same numbers, and is easier to quickly change numbers. I bought it earlier for myself another year for some change in my situation, maybe it was the first year of the increase std deduction, and found the same thing. So I won't be in a hurry to buy next year.At present, we are using the "What If" in the FORMS section of Turbo Tax Premier 2020 for 'Estimating the 2021 income & taxes'.
