Up 6.39% YTD

98% equity

Exposure to small caps and to a lesser extent international continues to have me lag the S and P and NASDAQ

tIRA CDs & Treasuries - 4.37%
Taxable - 8.7% - equities
Overall - AA 40/55 - 6%

September Ugh results:
September -2.7%
YTD: + 4.9%
YoY: +12.2% (improved only because Sept 22 was so awful)
Since high [12/31/21] -8.2%
Since 12/31/20 +2.8%
Since 12/31/19 +17.6%

Things continue to deteriorate, somewhat helped by high shorter term bond holdings:
October: -0.8%
YTD: +4.0%
YoY: +5.5% (from 11/5/22)
Since high [12/31/21]: -8.9%
Since 12/31/20: +1.9%
Since 12/31/19: +16.6%

Was up 9.9% ytd on mix 50.2% stock 44.5% fixed 5.3% cash. Net worth of this up 7.7% ytd as used 2.2% of the gain for tax payments for ROTH conversions. I had forgotten how much we all had been in February and this year feels like it had been death by 1000 paper cuts as so many down days in recent past. Had a few losses in cash accounts that will reduce taxes some but not increase net gain significantly enough to calculate.

For October down 2.64%

+7.65 % YTD AA 85/15

Lost 5% of my portfolio gains for the year in the month of October.

- Up 36% across my portfolio YTD
- Current AA is unchanged (equities / bonds / cash) = 86% / 0% / 14%
- Overall NW is still up 21% YTD
- Still at 60% of my goal FI target

On our Schwab portfolio with an AA of 65.5/34.5 equity/fixed income we are..

YTD +4.89% ending January
YTD +3.34% ending February
YTD +5.50% ending March
YTD +6.18% ending April
YTD +6.34% ending May
YTD +11.06% ending June
YTD +14.64% ending July
YTD +13.07% ending Aug
YTD +10.20% ending Sep
YTD +7.99% ending Oct

The way things are going I'll be back to where I started in Jan

I’m plodding along with a 3.3% ytd gain. But I have butternut squash soup simmering on the stove and the sourdough bread is rising so I’m happy.

Update from three days ago after this week's run: YTD +6.2%

Yep, these past few days were nice. I went from up 7.65% at the end of October, to up 11.41% yesterday. In just three days, my invested assets have made me more money than my job has, so far this year! Is it time to break out that W-word that tends to be taboo around here?
