Not a shining example of brilliance, VWIAX

"Earlier this year I moved all my Vanguard accounts to Fidelity. Ten of my Vanguard funds transferred in kind and I still have them in my Fidelity accounts" Curious about this, did you have Fidelity initiate this or VG? Thanks!

Are Portable Tire Inflators Any Good?

I am with the one I recently purchased, but it's intended use if for the air bags I added to the truck. For that it's working great so far. But I have not used it for auto/truck tires yet.

Sport Shooting in Retirement and how you have adapted…

Though just retired this summer I took up competitive rifle shooting at 47. Dedicated shooting glasses (Rangers or Decots) helped me a great deal. Depending on what you shoot & how far, bifocals and a special correction for the shooting eye is also helpful, especially for iron sights. If you're...

    Class of 2022

    Cashed out Son’s 529

On the phone some time with Vang to clear this up yesterday. To their credit they stayed with me, and when transfered I was picked up pretty quickly. It didn't help that this was a Coverdell and not a 529 as I originally thought - my bad. Eventually as they looked thru the account, they found...

Transferring from TRPrice to Fido Tax Consequences

Wonder same thing but with Vanguard ETFs bought at Steifel in the March 20 dip using Municipal bonds I'd held there but were sure to get cashed out soon. Now that I'm close to retirement thinking of consolidating holdings away from Steifel (taxable) and AIG (401k)

    Cashed out Son’s 529

He needs it for divorce costs. Vanguard did not withhold anything like I thought? (he’s 30). Do I have this right- we’ll see a 10% penalty & the balance treated as income at tax time? Thanks
