6 Month Treasury Question

It's time for me to reinvest a 6 month Treasury that just came due today. This is the first time I've had to reinvest it while there was major concern about the debt ceiling.

Are Treasuries like this subject to non-payment if there is some sort of stale-mate in the negotiations in the WH? Should I just leave it in the money market fund until this blows over?

I'm buying treasuries, no worries.

You think that even if the debt ceiling was not passed, that the Armed Services would keep working for months waiting to get paid ??
And all the SS recipients would sit at home and wait months ?
I think it would turn to a France History lesson of storming the Bastille.

If you are really worried, then leave it in a MM, probably pays 4% or so, so good enough for a week to find out.
