Anyone got any travel planned? 2018 version

My word do we have travel plans this year, having Fired on 04/27! (UK poster here....). We’re currently in Marbella, Spain for two weeks. At the end of June Mrs PD and me are going to New York for 5 nights. We’re very excited about that. Later on in the year we’re spending a week in Cornwall, England. In October we’re going back to Marbella for 9 nights, then in November we’re going to Florida for two weeks, fitting in a short 3 night cruise to the Bahamas in the middle. Phew!

Oh, I forgot to add a weekend in Dublin in July!

Edited to add that this current vacation in Marbella is our first ever where we don’t have to go back to work at the end of it. Fantastic feeling, it actually changes the whole vacation dynamic quite a bit.

Poppydog , schedule your Florida trip for the end of October and come to Key West with the rest of the retired folks from the U K for the Festival !

After spending a month hiking in New Zealand and a 5-day jaunt in Orlando, the rest of the year will probably be US. A week in July in northern Wisconsin; a week in August in Texas; a week in September in Colorado.

Great first trip after FIRE, probably more sun and warmth than Glasgow.

Heading to Memphis next week for 5 days. Leaving the heat of FLA for the heat of Tenn.

We just returned from a trip to Iceland around the Ring Road. Making plans to go back so my wife can spend a 4-5 days horseback riding. There was no time during the 10 days we were there so I suggested we return in late summer. It's a bucket list thing for her. We are also planning a couple of weeks driving up the coast of Maine to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI in July. Might be the last time to visit places that I went with my parents when I was young and with my wife when we would tent camp on our vacations.

Cheers!

Just returned from 10 days in Barcelona, + 10 day Med cruise + 14 day Trans Atlantic cruise and then Amtrak rail to home.

Really notice how everything at home is GREEN compared to the cities in Europe when there.

Around the Mediterranean Sea the climate is dry, and similar to that of California. Other places in Europe are greener.

Just returned from 2.5 weeks in Holland and 3.5 weeks in Spain.

Don’t notice that things are particularly green here, it was greener in Europe in May. It’s 20 degrees hotter here for sure! They talk about how hot it gets in southern Spain, like Arizona temps! But it wasn’t nearly as hot as here in May!

Just returned from eight days in southern Ireland. Everything was green. We wore jackets one day, and short sleeves the next, then back to jackets.

This was with some older relatives who wanted to see Ireland and chose an escorted group tour as their preferred way of travel and we went along to make it easier for them. Just under 40 people on a big coach bus hitting all the tourist spots. It was fine all in all but I don't think we'll do another one.

DW is going to Az for a week with a friend. I need to go somewhere solo during the same week. Maybe NYC. Maybe a road trip. It’s going to be a last minute decision.

We arrived in Cedarville, Michigan (U.P.) on our Northeaster Dory boat building class trip. We elected to drive a Chrysler van here rather than the Class C RV (brake issues) and rent a cottage for 8 days.

It's mid 50's F here this afternoon. Expecting rain for the next day or so. Pics:

I know, we are wimps for not taking the 25 year old RV 1500 miles up here.

Only 1,500 mi, and you are too chicken to take the class C. :nonono:

1500 each way?

So 2-3 days, about 10 hours or more on the road each day?
