A checkoff box on the INVESTIGATE page enables the option to, "provide data and formulas in a spreadsheet format". There are inconsistencies within the spreadsheets and between the spreadsheets and the FIRECalc graphic results that I do not understand.
The note in the middle of the spreadsheet for the cycle beginning in 1960 says, "The numbers above are results calculated by FIRECalc. The numbers below are generated by formulas in each cell, and should match the numbers above." However, the upper and lower numbers do not match and are significantly different for any set of input data that I have tried.
The second spreadsheet is described as giving, "the inflation-adjusted end-of-year portfolio balances for every year in each of the cycles tested by FIRECalc." However, a check of the min, average and max values of the year-end values in the spreadsheet gives results that do not agree (often by a factor of 2x or more) with the graphic and numerical values on the FIRECalc RESULTS page.
Any thoughts or explanations of these apparent inconsistencies would be appreciated.
