MJ, It turned out to be minced earth worms.  I felt kinda sick but managed to keep it down.

ever since i became vegetarian i haven't had that problem.

Ever since I was apprised of the fact that in some scandinavian countries that sausage is considered a vegetable, my vegetarianism has gone much better.

I had a dim sum off a street vendor in Johor. It looked like a ground chicken meatball and was very succulent. It turned out to be minced earth worms. I felt kinda sick but managed to keep it down.

But did it taste like chicken before you found out?

I have several fears that might shorten my life, one of them is dying from food poisining, as I am a bit adventuresome when it comes to food ( I need to get hepatitis shots), another is being shot by a husband while caught sleeping with his lovely 20 year old wife. Oh, I forgot, the last one is only a deathwish fantasy.

Was it a Tailgator special from Bojangles? That might explain the gator taste.
