Dennis Kozlowski as we've always wanted to see him...

The Smoking Gun website has a fascinating archive of mugshots. One of the newest additions to the album is Dennis Kozlowski reporting for prison duty.

He's in the maximum security Downstate Correctional Facility north of Manhattan, although the term "maximum security" apparently has nothing to do with how well he feels when he's sleeping at night.

Mark Swartz, Tyco's former CFO, is in the same prison. (No word on whether these two have been able to accumulate any "venture capital" for their new "entrepreneurial careers".) One military prison benefit is that new recruits inmates get a free haircut. This apparently was of no concern to Kozlowski but it sure made a difference to Swartz's appearance.

Kozlowski was laughing pretty hard about that shower curtain.  I bet he'd love to have ANY shower curtain or bathroom decor now...

I was "speaking for myself". Exulting in other's misfortune is unseemly at best.
With all of my flaws, I try hard not to do it (except for liberals, leftists, PC types,
etc). Corporate "crooks" mostly get a pass from me. In keeping with my new
policy (Never complain, Never explain), I will not expand on this as it would morph into an essay.

JG, I cannot agree.  These hotshots need a little loving, administered in the slammer, by a guy with large arms.  The greed got to their head, now something else needs to get to it.  I mean, their salary and perks are high enough.  Why rip off the workers and the investors?  I hate them because, in comparison, they make politicians look good. Like they say on the street, "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time." Maybe he could use one of those curtains for privacy while muscleman decides on foreplay.

are guilty as sin. However, if you are at the top of the corporate
food chain, there are a million ways to get in trouble even if you are saint-like in your conduct. Anyway, I have no respect for authority and this includes
law enforcement/judiciary. Can't even watch COPS on TV as I have
too much empathy
for the perps and think the cops are grandstanding
for the camera. On a personal level, I have been treated very
unfairly by the "system" several times. "Justice" is a big crapshoot at best (ask Martha Stewart).
Not only that, as more laws are passed, eventually we will all be criminals and subject to punishment. I see no reduction in this.
The trend is relentless.

Hey JG,

First, COPS is a grandstanding show...

Second, as one supreme court justice said (Burger) something like.... we dispense law not justice... I can not find the quote I am looking for... we are a nation of laws and not a nation of justice.. a big difference if you think about it for awhile

Marth Stewart was quilty of what she was charged... she lied when asked questions when she should have either shut up or told the truth.. it is not a defense to say that I lied about something that has now been determined not to be a crime so my lie is not a crime.. this might get some in the White House and I think it should...

It is still very hard to put a CEO in jail for something that somebody down in the company did if he had not involvement in the action... usually the company pays a fine and they go on their merry way... the very few who have had convictions have thier 'fingerprints' all over the 'crime'..

I am happy that he was convicted. And there are many Enron, Worldcom etc. that should be in jail...
