THE VILLAGES, Fla. (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested a 77-year-old man for allegedly buying more than $1,800 in erectile dysfunction drugs without a prescription and intending to sell them in the massive central Florida retirement community The Villages and elsewhere.

The man was arrested last month in The Villages, where he lives alongside nearly 80,000 fulltime residents and which was featured in the 2020 documentary “Some Kind of Heaven.”

I'll go first:
Looks like he'll be facing hard time.

Nice one.

Might not get hard time, might just get a stiff fine.

Thankfully, I don't know how much $1,800 worth of erectile function drugs would consist of. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't seem like a too much of a crime.

I'll bet he wasn't arrested for buying that many since the Villages is full of "opportunities". :D

He should have stopped selling drugs in the 9th grade. His business model is outdated and wrong. Every 5th add I see is for how to purchase drugs online.

I must have been sent all the fun drugs via FB adds. They now push beta blockers to me. I know about them. The dose my former MD prescribed sent me to the hospital!

He sure was trying to arouse the masses

Well some level of inventory is required in order to penetrate the market.

Maybe he just wanted everyone to stand at attention

He was channeling Santa Claus or maybe Robin Hood..honestly stories like this make me shake my head. The only reason you can't buy that over the counter is greed.

Maybe "Woody" Johnson was just an entrepreneurial individual taking advantage of a soft market?

He was just being da' Man for the Village People.

I get the funny jokes, but are the Feds seriously going after a 77 yo for $1,800 of Viagra (or what ever)? How about fentanyl?

Never heard of anyone dying of a Viagra overdose, but they probably all called the ER if it lasted more than 4 hours (OK, I couldn't resist)

It was probably a case reported by some killjoy who couldn't stand to see other people "getting away with it" and it was such a simple case they'd be derelict for not taking it on.

I'll wager the suspect gets a sentence of fifty lashes with a wet noodle or similar just to make the case go away.

I’m gonna guess it was the women of The Villages who called the cops! 🤡

We’re really hard on drug dealers in Florida, no matter what they are pushing.

If he was in England, could get it OTC and not face stiff fine.
