Thought I'd give a last update on this thread and then start looking more in the Life after FIRE forum
It has now been exactly 1 week since I left work. I still don't know what my pension is going to be but am assured today that, although my situation is unique, it will be the most possible, even though it may be coming from multiple sources. (I'm the first to have earned a UK pension with the former joint owner of the company I have actually retired from and the agreement on transferring back in '92 is that the pension I would receive will be equivalent as if I'd worked all my years for the new company). Although it is a little frustrating that it is taking so long, the HR folks are excellent and have always done right by me during various assignments and re-locations over the years.
We moved from Louisiana to Texas and although we still have a number of boxes still to unpack and few other "settling in" tasks to complete, we're starting to see how things are going to work. Already I am wondering how I am going to make time to do the things I want to do !!
Morning schedules are get up - go to the Y, socialize over coffee after exercising, run any errands such as shopping and get back home around 11am. I have 2 tennis partners I expect to hook back up with, plus I play tennis with DW and DS. We also enjoy bike riding, and over the last few weeks I have come accustomed to spending a lot of of time on the internet, including this site. Plus lunches with friends etc. (Moving back to where we lived for a few years has eliminated the usual time it takes to get to know folks when you re-locate).
