Home temperature

Cooler than many it appears

During the cold winter months here in TN we go 67 during the day and 59 at night. Here in the Fall when it gets somewhat cooler, but not super cold, we keep it at 65 during the day and 59 at night. When the sun comes out it tends to keep the house warmer as well (we have lots of windows to let in light, and our one story home retains the heat nicely.

62F in the morning to warm the house up and then down to about 56-58F during the day/night.

We live near the beach in San Francisco in a house with no A/C (or insulation) and 65F is getting too hot for us, and 70F is an official heat wave. We've got no problem wearing sweaters in the house at various times throughout the year, or grabbing a light throw if we want to sit in a chair and read when the temps are low(ish). Winter lows might get near 40F, and mid to high 50s is our preferred temperature range.

Winter - heat is off.
Summer - AC is off.

Actually we don't have heat or AC. Average year-around temp in our house is 66-70 at night and 72-78 during the day. We live in Hawaii.

69 winter, 76 summer.
Was told long ago too much temp fluctuation within a day puts too much stress on furnace or AC. We try and keep more constant.
