How do you deal with a wife with no FIRE plans?

All I can say is that I used to hear my dad complain about how my mom would send money "home" to her brother, but her brother (my uncle) was raising his family with not that much money (only my aunt worked and they had 4 young children); he was disabled. I'd hear my mom reply that her brother raised her, so she should send money. I mean, it's really both of their money, as my parents owned their own business. Definitely cultural, but the level of support probably also differs among different Asian countries.
