I was a boy scout leader for many years. There were lots and lots of single moms with their sons in scouts for "male influence." They were generally not in a longterm relationship and would have liked a man that showed any interest in their children. Had I been single...

I did a count at age 34 or so and the sum was 25 then. Add about 3 or 4 so more for the last 25 years.
